Too many cars, dump trucks, and even school buses are speeding on W. 17th St. west of the roundabout to the hill. Sometimes they're going in excess of 20 mph above the posted speed limit (which is 25 going east and 30 going west). Plus many of the vehicle, particularly motorcycles, have terrible mufflers that far exceed the noise specified by the Bloomington noise ordinance. It's unbearable at times (not exaggerating). I can't even hold a conversation on my front porch. And other neighbors are awakened every night by the noise. At the intersection of E 3rd St and College Mall Rd motorists headed west on E 3rd St and turning south onto College Mall Rd often crowd into the intersection as their light turns yellow and then red. They then are blocking the intersection so that people traveling east on East 3rd are blocked from proceeding. Today they blocked the intersection for almost he entire duration of the green light for those traveling East on 3rd St. My suggestion is to post an officer at this intersection and ticket persons who are blocking the intersection when the light for the eastbound cars on 3rd St turns green.

Blue Buick at 3345 is permanently stationary with no registration I do not know if this is illegal or not. The condo H.O.A. is unresponsive ( Ivy Sells). The owner of this unit is Hoosier Choice Realty. This resident had a visitor that intimidated me in the past . Cars.law.com states an unregistered vehicle in Indiana may not be located on a sidewalk. Hello. There is a problem with reckless driving in the Maple Heights neighborhood. I experience it on my daily walks on Fairview, 11th, Maple, 13th, Jackson, Rogers, etc... I see it and hear it throughout my day specifically on 13th street both west and east directions and Fairview both north and south directions. Frequently, it is a vehicle speeding north on Fairview, then turning east on 13th street. Then just a few minutes later the same car speeds in the reverse directions. Is this some sort of a methamphetamine pickup? I don't know. But it is regular, has been a regular occurrence, and I am tired of it. The worst regular occurrence are negligent, selfish motorists traveling at very high speeds from the east on 13th street heading west to Maple. I was taking in the recycling bin last night and could not believe the speed at which someone drove past me. This is not safe. There is a special needs adolescent in the neighborhood who sometimes dances around in the street. There are children that play and should have every right to play without cars traveling at high speeds past them. This is incredibly dangerous driving in a residential neighborhood and I would appreciate it if the police could enforce the traffic laws prior to their being property damage and/or personal injury. The high speeds cars drive on Kinser Pike are crazy fast and it's any time of day (morning, evening, middle of the night). I'm honestly afraid for my 3 year old's life as much as I keep her out of the road. The hill/blind spots before my house really worry me. I don't know if we could have more patrols out here or a speed check sign. I know there was a school speed limit sign in my neighbors yard that has since disappeared.

I live on Southern drive, which is a side street off of Walnut. I have noticed people speeding on Walnut and it has become increasingly dangerous for other drivers who are following the speed laws. Is there any way that there could be more of a police presence who can run radar and could possibly reduce the speeding on this road? I think it would really help! Thank you!

The vast majority of cars do not yield to pedestrians looking to cross the street using the crosswalk at the intersection of 3rd and Grant. Oftentimes when a car in one of the lanes yields to a crossing pedestrian, cars in the other lane will not yield and drive straight through the crosswalk when a pedestrian is attempting to cross. My concern is that eventually a pedestrian who thinks they are safe while crossing will be struck by a driver not aware of the law. I think Bloomington PD could generate a lot of revenue from tickets in just one day by having someone monitoring that crosswalk. Putting in a new sign that says the law is to yield could also be a solution.

Excessive speed and noise along College Mall Road from motorcycles. They are racing up and down the street at a high rate of speed. While cars are an issue, the motorcyclists are more disturbing and prone for an accident.

my car has been hit twice while parked in front of my house on W 7th street. It’s been a hit and run both times. They just leave my mirror in pieces on the street. The issue is people speeding and not waiting their turn to go when there are two cars on the street. I’ve had to pay out of pocket to fix my mirror. Not to mention, when I’m trying to get my kiddos out of their car seats, cars just fly by at high speed. I’m just waiting for the day my entire door gets taken off.
