I live on Southern drive, which is a side street off of Walnut. I have noticed people speeding on Walnut and it has become increasingly dangerous for other drivers who are following the speed laws. Is there any way that there could be more of a police presence who can run radar and could possibly reduce the speeding on this road? I think it would really help! Thank you!
White BMW vehicle accelerated through the stop sign and accelerated again at a high speed west on Allendale causing a bike to veer off the road. This vehicle endangered the bicyclist, ignored the stop sign, and has on multiple occasions done this.
Speeding on w. Allen is getting out of hand
A tenant in this house regularly drives the wrong way on 11th Street. To get to the parking spot in back, the approach should be from Washington (from the west) but instead she takes what she has decided is a convenient shortcut from Lincoln. This has caused near collisions multiple times with pedestrians who are walking on 11th street (which for some reason has no sidewalks in this block). Each time, she flippantly squeals, "Oh, sorry!" as if she didn't know better, even though she has been given a talking to about this several times. It is clearly marked "One Way" towards the east. Can the police give someone a ticket for something they did not actually witness? What is the best approach when entitled undergraduates regularly violate traffic regulations because they are inconsiderate, selfish, and feel the rules don't apply to them? On 10th St during the rush hours, drivers going straight will often swerve into the right turn lanes to go around drivers who are turning left and waiting for a break in the traffic. This is dangerous and I had an close call once when I was going to turn right onto Pete Ellis and a driver in the straight/left turn lane swerved into my lane to get around the car in front of them. This is also dangerous since a driver turning left doesn't expect oncoming vehicles in the right turn lane to go straight. I'd recommend a traffic officer be present during the rush hours one day to ticket people who do this so people realize that this is not acceptable. Thanks for listening!
Could use a week or two of speed limit enforcement. We often have cars gunning their engines and far exceeding the speed limit. It's dangerous on such a narrow street. Some moderate speed bumps might help, or occasional law enforcement presence
For the past couple weeks I've observed the same Domino's delivery driver driving southbound on Washington at a fairly high rate of speed between 12 and 10th street. I suspect he cuts west through the alley between 9th and 10th to return to the Domino's location. Can something be done to slow this guy down? This is happening in the evening and nighttime hours.
Unsafe speeds by motorists. Very hard to see when getting on to Walnut from Dillman. N and S bound traffic travelling at excessive speeds.
Hello. There is a problem with reckless driving in the Maple Heights neighborhood. I experience it on my daily walks on Fairview, 11th, Maple, 13th, Jackson, Rogers, etc... I see it and hear it throughout my day specifically on 13th street both west and east directions and Fairview both north and south directions. Frequently, it is a vehicle speeding north on Fairview, then turning east on 13th street. Then just a few minutes later the same car speeds in the reverse directions. Is this some sort of a methamphetamine pickup? I don't know. But it is regular, has been a regular occurrence, and I am tired of it. The worst regular occurrence are negligent, selfish motorists traveling at very high speeds from the east on 13th street heading west to Maple. I was taking in the recycling bin last night and could not believe the speed at which someone drove past me. This is not safe. There is a special needs adolescent in the neighborhood who sometimes dances around in the street. There are children that play and should have every right to play without cars traveling at high speeds past them. This is incredibly dangerous driving in a residential neighborhood and I would appreciate it if the police could enforce the traffic laws prior to their being property damage and/or personal injury. The towing company Tow Time at 2620 S. Rogers street. Tow trucks travel down Fairview to W. 7th several times a day racing their engines a driving very fast even when school is in session. The noise from these trucks is so loud that you can still hear them as the get to the down town area. Our neighborhood has complained to the owner and to individual drivers this past summer. The noise is a disruption and a nuisance.
