I was taking my child to school at University this morning. There has been a crew working on the power lines on 10th street. This morning they seemed to be getting a later start. It was about 8:25 and the trucks were just arriving. We sat for 10 minutes waiting for traffic coming from the east on 10th street. Several children were late to school because it seems the company didn't have a handle on the traffic control. I may have missed it but I saw no one managing traffic at Smith or on the eastside of 10th street. On a school morning, I would expect the crew would be set up and ready to handle the traffic prior to the start of school.

Mr. Miller states that since the City installed sidewalks along E. Third Street that bicyclists are riding on these sidewalks at high speed. It is very dangerous for pedestrians and one day he will be hit. Is there anything the City can do?

Students from Bloomington High School North park their vehicles on Valleyview Drive, mainly from Winding Way to Parkview Drive. Mr. Steele would like to have some type of signage indicating that this is resident parking only. I explained to him that the Neighborhood Parking Program is currently on hold to add any more areas and that the only sign would be "No Parking". The high speeds cars drive on Kinser Pike are crazy fast and it's any time of day (morning, evening, middle of the night). I'm honestly afraid for my 3 year old's life as much as I keep her out of the road. The hill/blind spots before my house really worry me. I don't know if we could have more patrols out here or a speed check sign. I know there was a school speed limit sign in my neighbors yard that has since disappeared.

The amount of speeding on Kinser Pike is ridiculous, especially for a school zone. At least I thought it was, the school speed limit zone sign was removed last summer for some reason. Any time of day or night, multiple cars speeding.

The vast majority of cars do not yield to pedestrians looking to cross the street using the crosswalk at the intersection of 3rd and Grant. Oftentimes when a car in one of the lanes yields to a crossing pedestrian, cars in the other lane will not yield and drive straight through the crosswalk when a pedestrian is attempting to cross. My concern is that eventually a pedestrian who thinks they are safe while crossing will be struck by a driver not aware of the law. I think Bloomington PD could generate a lot of revenue from tickets in just one day by having someone monitoring that crosswalk. Putting in a new sign that says the law is to yield could also be a solution.

There need to be more signs in the direction opposite one-way traffic that indicate "Wrong Way" or "No entry" for streets perpendicular to 6th Street. Too many people have been driving the wrong way down 6th Street and it is really dangerous. If a person is unfamiliar with the area, there is limited signage that indicates they are driving the wrong way down 6th until they come in contact with another car.
