Absentee owner of property to east of 1208 W. 8th St. seems to have abandoned yard again. Grass is over 2 feet tall, thick dirt from construction is all over the sidewalk, and my landlord and I have been cutting back the bushes/part of the lawn so that they don't completely block the sidewalk. I can barely get my son's stroller through and the mud is extremely slippery after a hard rain. Our yard also has a major chigger infestation from the owner only mowing his lawn two or three times a year in previous years so that I can't even take my toddler outside to play without us both suffering from dozens of bites. Please help!

There are many pedestrians like myself who walk North Walnut under the railroad trestle just north of 13th Street. On the west side of Walnut, this is so overgrown with weeds (some nearly trees) it becomes difficult to safely navigate there. Who is responsible to maintain this problem? If it's the railroad, they should be fined - especially in the winter when snow is NEVER cleared. The weeds are a nasty sight, too. One more thing, what should we do when we see homeless people making their 'homes' under the bridge. I just came past there and a couple of scary guys (trolls??) were making themselves comfortable. I'm a middle-aged single woman w/o a car so I often have to go to CVS from my home at 11th and Walnut. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Many neighbors and I use the sidewalk on the east side of S. Henderson St., opposite BHS sports fields, between Wylie Farm and Graham Roads, but I am writing to report that the trees and other growth next to it have become a nuisance and need culling/trimming back. The front yard of 207 E. 12th is PERPETUALLY neglected. Right now it's the grass that's too long. In the winter it's the sidewalks covered with snow. Also, the front steps to the porch are at a dangerous angle and should be reset if this property is allowed to be rented. Lastly, there's a couch on the porch that should be removed.

No Walnut St @ 12th and under the railroad bridge: Weeds are extremely overgrown and it's nearly impossible to walk on the sidewalk. This area is ALWAYS overlooked (snow in winter is treacherous!). There are many people who walk this stretch daily to get to the CVS store at 14th and Walnut. It's already a dangerous stretch as cars fly down that hill beginning at 11th St. Add to the mix, the 'trolls' (aka: homeless people) who 'live' under the bridge at times until the area is saturated with a strong urine stench. With all the traffic passing by this location daily, why can't this be better cared for - instead of an eyesore?!
