Our water usage volume has almost tripled in Jan, Feb and Mar of 2023 compared to Oct, Nov and Dec of 2022.From about 11K gallons to around 33K gallons per month. Something does not seem right. I believe our facilities manager did have a plumbing company look to see if they could find any issue but I don't believe they did. Can someone take a look at this issue? I am writing to bring your attention to an urgent matter regarding an unusually high water bill that I have received. My name is Kumar Vinayak, and I am a resident in the Bloomington area. I hope that you can assist me in resolving this issue promptly. Upon reviewing my recent bills, I have noticed a significant discrepancy in the water consumption. In the month of April, the recorded consumption was approximately 30 gallons, while in May, it unexpectedly increased to 35 gallons. These figures are undoubtedly incorrect, as such a volume of water cannot be reasonably consumed by a single individual. To address this concern, we immediately contacted our leasing office, as we suspected a possible emergency situation or water leakage within our house. They promptly responded by inspecting the property thoroughly but found no signs of any leaks or abnormal water usage. This observation leads us to believe that the issue may lie with the meter or its readings, as it seems to be continuously running even when the house is unoccupied. Given our status as students, it is financially burdensome for us to pay the exorbitant amount of approximately $1000 for water alone. This kind of billing discrepancy is highly abnormal, as it greatly surpasses our electricity bill, which amounts to approximately $100 per month. I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter and urge you to investigate the issue thoroughly. I have attached a copy of the bill for your reference. I believe it is essential to rectify this situation as soon as possible to avoid any further financial strain on our part. The water usage is exceedingly high and we are not sure why. The amount that is recorded as being used seems like way more than we could use, and we suspect there may be an issue with the water meter or a potential leak somewhere that is causing an issue with the reading.
When customer changed meters to Aqua Pay, both names on meter received bill for minimum amount. Customer feels this is double billing and should not be allowed.
Ms. Becker sent a letter requsting that she receive credit for 1/2 of her sewer bill for September. She purchased 18 trees and watered heavily so that they would survive.
LETTER WAS RECEIVED ON 3/11/97 FROM MARY C. FARQUHAR OF THE BLOOMINGTON THRIFT SHOP. MS. FARQUHAR STATED THEY RECEIVED A LARGE BILL. SHE STATED THAT ON 2/11/97 A REP FROM CBU WENT TO THE THRIFT SHOP AND TOLD THEM THEY USED 60,000 GALLONS DURING THE PREVIOUS PERIOD AND SUGGESTED THAT THEY HAD A LEAK. THEY CALLED A PLUMBER AND HAD THE LEAK REPAIRED. THEY ARE REQUESTING THAT THE PORTION OF THEIR BILL OVER NORMAL USAGE BE CANCELED SINCE THERE WAS A LEAK.
Jeff Delaplane owns the building at 425 N. Walnut St. He complained that he is actually not hooked on to sewer but has been paying sewer charges. He would like to be reimbursed the paid sewer charges and excavation charges.
MS. SONNY GALLO OWNS THE BOOKRACK (A BOOKSTORE LOCATED AT 223 S. PETE ELLIS DRIVE. SHE USED TO HAVE BILLS OF $6-$7 PER MONTH; HOWEVER, LATELY HER BILLS HAVE RISEN DRAMATICALLY. SHE HAS HAD TESTS RUN BY UTILITIES DEPT. AND HAS BEEN INFORMED THAT THE DEPT. CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG. SHE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE CAUSE OF THE INCREASE IN AMOUNTS.
Ltr. from customers stated they were gone from Dec. 9, 2003, until March 4, 2004, and rec'd. unusually large bill. They want to request an adjustment. Will be notified of next USB Admin. Subcommittee meeting.
