After all the utilities repair that's been going on in our neighborhood, our streets were completely ripped up. The city has since started patching the roads, but they've done a pretty slapdash job of it. The new paving is very uneven and there are gaps and places where it's easy to lose your footing. I've already tripped at least once in the last few days when I've been out walking my dog. I'm a young, able-bodied person so I'm sure you can see how it could pose a risk to the other residents in the neighborhood who might be older or less steady on their feet. I hope this patching effort is a temporary fix and not the final product, because that would be unacceptable. I would love to hear back about this issue and whether or not this is a temporary fix. I hope the roads in our neighborhood can be completely repaved when this water utilities project is fully completed.
I believe there may be an underground water main leak at the T intersection of N. Plymouth Road and E. Sheffield Dr. in Park Ridge East. (I live on Plymouth) There has been some muddy water coming up through the pavement for a couple days. Nothing gushing up, but enough to create a small bit of water to stand there and to run in the gutter. There was a water main break there a few years ago and a repair. As I said, water is not shooting or gushing up, yet, but it is something that probably should be checked soon.
The alley between Tracks and Village Deli, leading back to bloominfoods, is in terrible shape, with many potholes.
large, deep potholes in alley between Topo's 403 and Papa John's - parallel to N. Walnut St., between 8th & 9th Sts.
I woke up and had to go to cvs for medicine. On my way back I went east on 8th and at Lincoln and 8th there was some type of huge bump that is hidden in the dark with no warning or construction signs. I was going maybe 20 mph which is under the speed limit and out of no where I hit a huge bump/ hole in the road that knocked my muffler out of place on my car. There is no number to call this late so I will call in the morning but to have work being done on the road and to leave something like that without any type of warning sign is not right and my car is messed up from it
The alley that runs between 800 North Grant Street and 415 East 11th Street (connecting East 11th and East 12th streets) is full of potholes and bumps, especially as it gets closer to 11th St. Many of us who live in these buildings have to drive through this alley every day in order to access the parking for our buildings. I know that the condition of this alley has been damaging to the suspension of my car, and I am sure I am not alone in this. I'm sure I speak for many when I say that we would greatly appreciate it if this alleyway were to be re-paved, or at least have some of the deeper potholes and bumps filled in and smoothed out. Thank you for your time, Tyler Davis
The alleys between Madison and Rogers/Kirkwood and 6th Street are torn up again. Graffiti on the building for Car Quest which is seen from this alley already and they just painted it. Thank you!
A hole has developed in front of our mailbox and the edge of the street seems to be sinking into the hole.
This isnt a pothole as much as a man created crater at the edge of a parking lot and a dirt area. I am afraid it will begin compromising the asphalt now since it is just sitting and eroding?
