On Woodstock Place, a dead tree fell into the ROW. It isn’t an immediate hazard but I don’t have a chainsaw to cut it up and move it. It’s 4-5 houses into Woodstock on the north side of the street.
There are lots of asphalt chunks in the gutter that interfere with keeping the storm drains unclogged.
I am a storm drain volunteer for the Utility Department for Sussex Drive and Queensway from High St to Montclair and have been tracking broken asphalt pavement that might enter or block the storm drains and storm sewers by collecting broken pavement. I have collected a second load of broken pavement that is on the east/mail box side of my driveway at 2305 Sussex Dr. The pile weighs about 134 ponds could a City Street crew pick up the pile for recycling and reuse?
I have been collecting broken asphalt pavement from Sussex Dr, and from High St to Montclair along Queensway as an experiment for the Utility Department on reducing storm drain blockage on streets with significant slopes. I weighed the amount of debris collected since the start of the freeze-thaw cycle and the new pile is just short of 310 pounds on the east side of my driveway. Could this debris be picked up by a city crew for recycling?
I have been volunteering with the Utility Department keeping storm drains clear. Since fall I have been also removing broken asphalt pavement from Queensway to Montclair and from Sussex Dr to Montclair as an experiment to reduce pavement debris from obstructing storm drains. Once again I have accumulated enough debris for a crew to remove it for reuse in new pavement. I estimate there is about 150 pounds of material that I have now placed at the southeast end of our driveway. Thank you. Don Eggert
i just sent a message about how hard this area is to keep up by myself. you sent message back about mowing, not sure if you also mean the litter problem all the time there. i pick it up at least 2 times aweek. but need help when ever possible. thx. its a real problem from henderson down to walnut. gys stand there and ask for money and throw there trash there. aslo henderson from winslow up past bloomington south high school is a problem. ill do what i can to help. thx
the intersection at south walnut pike and rohr road they have mowed there and left all the grass in the road and on the walks. and choped up trash.
large tree branch came down. We removed it from the street onto the grassy area between the side walk and the street. It's between 2738 and 2736 Brigs Bend. Thank you
Some time ago, the street was patched by the curb of my next door neighbor. During this last storm the patch was raised up and broke into pieces. The larger pieces remained in that location but the rest of the patch and gravel washed down the street on it’s way to drain but ended up in front of my drive. The city was repairing the patch today and I asked if they could get the patch that was in front of my house and they said I would have to contact the city. I always remove debris that blocks drain but I never know what to do with all the gravel. If I know the sweeper is coming or I see them in the neighborhood I try to brush it into piles but the sweepers don’t generally get it all. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. here again, they mowed this round about and left alot of grass and debris there. the whole area is covered with grass, the road the concrete, the walks. the should have blown that off and cleaned it up. its a real mess. i hope you can understand this is important to take care of, trying to keep our city clean.hope you understand thx
