This guy leaves his 2 dogs tied up out in the yard ALL the time. They get tangled up together and choke each other. They are without water. I was told that after multiple complaints, Animal Control went there, but nothing was resolved. The people who own the home bought it for their son to live in. They have PLENTY of money to put in a fence, and should be told to do so. These dogs are outside barking all night. PLEASE do something! Thank you!

three dogs are left in the front yard tied up to a fence and tree for extended periods of time. You can see the brown dirt they run back and forth in all day. I'm not sure why they neglect their pets. I am also not sure why they need to tie their pets in the front yard 5 feet from the street. The dogs do not have access to shelter, water, or food. They bark at every passing person walking by.

Animal Control & Neglected Pets

A neighbor has three dogs. They all are aggressive and have attempted to attack my dogs or myself on multiple occasions. In the past two days two of the dogs have attacked my dogs unprovoked while in our backyard and on my front porch. They never have the dogs on leashes except the most aggressive one, but even when on leashes they are unsupervised. The past two occasions the dogs have not been on leashes at all, and entirely unsupervised. I have to walk past their porch in order to go onto my own. They can reach both me and my dogs even when leashed on their porch, making me unable to take my own dogs out or leave my home. While they have attacked, pinned down and snapped at my dogs many times, they have not left any serious injuries/cuts/abrasions because I’ve fought or scared them off in time. I don’t know if you can do anything but I don’t want to wait until there is a time I don’t get there fast enough or I can’t fight them off and they really hurt my dogs before I call animal control. I would like to remain anonymous as possible because they live right next door. Their address is 865 e Miller dr.

On 9/5/22, at 8:30 AM, I saw a doe with her neck twisted into a terrible spasm near 1504 S Olive. She could not straighten it even when fleeing. Her head was nearly 90 degrees to the side. At first I thought she was threatening me but she couldn't change posture. No abrasions or blood. Doe and fawn with her looked normal. Both adults had coat loss. Might be a case of CWD? Also filed report with DNR. State website claims no CWD in Indiana but I saw a pretty clear case of it in Renwick subdivision summer 2019--your dispatcher said that's what it sounded like anyway. I wonder if they only count hunter reported cases.

2 dogs at 121 Roundtree Ct Ellettsville. Both dogs look like they haven't eaten in weeks. 1 dog is a black dog. She is so skinny you can see the rib bones and the 2nd dog is a husky. He is left in his crate all day. From the outside of the property you can smell cat urine. There are 2-3 cats in the basement urinating on everything. It is a terrible smell and horrible to see dogs and cats in such conditions. Homeowners/pet owners are Andrew and Christina Ward.

Animal Control & Neglected Pets

This is a follow up to a neighbor's dog attacking and killing our pet cat on the afternoon of 9/15 at 2956 N Bankers Dr (my address, my property, and the location where the dog killed the cat). Two animal control officers came and took a statement from me on 9/16 based upon a complaint filed by the pet owner (Lucas Burks, I believe), and I just wanted to get a complaint in, as well, from the perspective of the person whose pet was killed in an aggressive and brutal attack. To quickly describe the incident, around 3PM on 9/15 I noticed a commotion outside our house on our back deck and realized the pitbull or pitbull-type dog (Junior) from the property adjacent (2950 N Bankers) chasing our pet cat, Olga. I ran outside in time to see the dog pull the cat down from the side of the house, trying to attack it. I intervened by first trying to separate the animal (briefly successful) by putting a kayak in-between them. Unfortunately, the dog evaded the obstacle and took the cat into its jaws. I began shouting and physically intervening in trying to stop the mauling, but was ultimately unsuccessful. As soon as it became apparent the cat was beyond the point of survival, I ceased contact with the dog and called the the owner of the adjacent property, Margaret (Peg) Sutton. Reg arrived while the dog was still gripping the dead cat in its jaws. She tried to get the dog to disengage by spraying it with our hose, but the dog simply took the cat further away in the yard. Peg then asked to use my cell phone to call her son (Lucas Burks), who she indicated was the actual dog owner. I lent her my cell phone and went inside to call my partner, Alison Baum, who came home from work early to bury Olga. While I was gone, Peg managed to separate the dog from Olga’s carcass, and exited our property. My understanding is her son Lucas arrived shortly thereafter and took the dog to the vet for injuries sustained in the battle. I want to say that I am deeply hurt and upset about the loss of Olga in such a brutal fashion. I attempted to defend our pet’s life on our own property, and I failed. I have two children who are upset and afraid to go outside in case Junior is around. And I’m afraid Junior, having had a bad interaction with me, will view me as a direct threat. I wish no further escalation with our neighbor and her son, and I only ask that the dog Junior never be allowed or present anywhere near our property going forward. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information at all. Chris Franke

Animal Control & Neglected Pets

1022 E Southdowns DR

Case Date:
9/20/2022

On Sunday evening I caught some photos of a loose dog on Southdowns between Manor and Hawthorne. The dog is frequently out on its own and tends to stay within that block roughly. It lives in a red house on Southdowns. My main concern is that this Sunday I was on a walk and observed the dog almost get hit by two vehicles in the road, I had to re-route my walk with my dog because this dog was at-large with an unknown temperament, and the dog also went to the bathroom in the grass by the creek without being cleaned up by the owners (due to being oblivious to where their dog was at the time). Is there anything that can be done to try to keep the dog safe and other drivers and pedestrians safe too? Thanks.
