RE: Twin Lakes Lodge: The building was dirty when they rented it. The floors had not been swept very well. There were piles of dirt in the corners. The floor had not been mopped. The bathroom sinks and toilets were dirty. They went ahead and cleaned up because they did not have the time to call the Parsk Dept. before their party began. They also cleaned up afterwards, but feels it was not their duty to clean up other people's messes.
We could use a trash receptacle or combo trash/recycling on the dam side of Griffy Lake. This area gets quite a bit of usage during the warm months and I find a lot of bottles and cans, fishing materials, and dog waste in the area. Since the area is already being mowed on a regular basis, I would imagine it would be fairly easy for the crew to empty the bin at the same time.
The Griffy Dam parking area could still use a trash can and/or dog waste station. Lots of folks fish and walk their dogs here, but there is no place to dispose of old fishing line and dog waste. Last time I mentioned this they said they would reassess once the new trail was completed. I know it’s a bit out of the way but maybe the crew that maintains Ferguson dog park could swing by and collect it once a week? Thanks!
There appears to be a termite infestation at the Park Ridge park on Longview Avenue.
Poop all over the mulch under the playground, in a couple different spots. Don't know if it's dog or human poop (there is a wipe as well), but highly disgusting and unsafe.
Thank you for putting down straw and grass seed in Park Ridge Park as well as putting out more playground fill!
Hi, Regarding Park Ridge Park, as the fall leaf season approaches, I want to bring up leave removal at the park. It does seem as though some bare ground did develop at the park this season and I would say that it is due in part to the lack of leaf removal. Neighborhood residents might be able to aid in getting our very shaded and "treed" park cleared. To make the most of that, we would appreciate it if Parks and Rec or some other city agency could help out with coordinating with the leave removal crews to ensure that if we do gather the leaves that they will be picked up. Is that something that the department can help out with? Thanks as always, John
