Homeless living there
lower cascades next to the waterfall shelter has a homeless man living in it.
Good Evening. You may know this already, but there are two landscape plants in the Mills Pool grounds that are nearly passed away completely and really look bad. One is the Blue Spruce tree right on Blair Ave and the other is a Mugo Pine in the long winding planter bed up next to the fence along Blair Ave. They are really not well and they look really bad. I'm hoping they can be removed prior to the start of the pool season on May 27th so the rest of the city can see the beauty of this pool and grounds and neighborhood. Just trying to be a good citizen and member of my community. Thanks for all you do for all the parks and grounds in the city.
Homeless living down at lower cascades at the waterfall shelter trash and sleeping bag all inside of building.
I am delighted that the two new boardwalks have traction strips. I hope that this one, on the central path, near the rest rooms, will get the strips soon. THIS is the slippery one where I fell and injured my wrist. In a cast and brace for about two months. I uReported all three boardwalks. In response this one was power-washed and I was assured more would be done when Spring came. I hope this report goes through---lately they haven't.
Asking permission to establish a small perenial planting area at the base of the Park Ridge park sign on the corner. I and some neighbors wish to plant a small area to add to the park beauty. We plan to plant perennials so they may flower through the warmer seasons. This will be maintained by there Invasive removal team members, I am a member and have completed the volunteers orientation. We will also loop in our recently appointed Park Ambassador. We will use plants from our own yards. We might add a small stone border but make it low to not impede lawn mowing activity. I will not proceed until I receive your permission.
Tree on north side of Bryan Park, just north of the asphalt path. Misidentified as Ohio Buckeye (Aesculus glabra). It is red horse chestnut (Aesculus x carnea). Buckeye (Aesculus glabra) has pale yellowish flowers. Red buckeye (Aesculus pavia) has bright red flowers. Red horse-chestnut (Aesculus x carnea) has (bright) pink flowers.
Yesterday while hiking in the woods at RCA Park with my grandchildren There was a tent pitched back in the woods. Today in the same place the tent was gone but belongings including a backpack and shirt were there. There was also evidence of a campfire. A live tree had suffered damage from the fire. Please check into this. It is just off a major dirt path and visible from the path. Leaving their stuff there suggests they might return. I let BPD know. I am attaching photos here.
