Thank you for clearing the path within Reverend Butler Park and most of the sidewalks around the park quickly after the snowfall earlier this month. Please finish the job by clearing the snow from the sidewalk on Fairview Street in the northeast corner of the park, from where the park path meets the Fairview sidewalk north to 10th Street. Snow and ice still covered this portion of the sidewalk as of this morning, January 17, more than ten days after the end of the snowfall. Please note Bloomington Municipal Code section 6.07.010(a) "It shall be the duty of every owner of any premises abutting a sidewalk in all parts of the city to remove, or cause to be removed, all snow and ice from the sidewalk to allow safe and reasonable travel on said sidewalk within twenty-four hours after snow or ice has ceased to fall or in any way accumulate."
Sidewalks are unwalkable due to snow from 2 weeks ago.
Two issues at the same place. At the crossing place along the creek east of the basketball courts and the nearby bridge. 1) a tree branch has cracked and bent on the west side of thst crossing 2) it's been a few years since the last "fix" for the crossing where the intermittent stream enters Sheridan Creek. The fix involved a culvert, concrete and gravel. That area has eroded again. I'd like to suggest replacing that with a small bridge. Thank you!
walking hazard on the East side of Miller Showers Park where the blacktop is raised up/is uneven.
There are a couple of very deep holes on the large hill on the north end of the large dog area of the Switchyard dog park. I was not there to see this happen, but a gentleman I was just speaking with there said that he saw a dog get very injured when its leg was caught while running. They should be filled to prevent any further injuries. Thank you!
MSI rent-a-cops are driving their golf carts all over the park, not staying on paths, and creating ruts, ripping up grass, and undoing the drainage remediation. They're causing flooding and icing of the creek path.
I was walking Bryan Park, along Woodlawn on Sunday 2/9/25 (pic is from 3:02PM) and the small security patrol vehicle was parked on the walking path across from Sheridan/Southdowns. It may have been watching the people on the tennis court. As I got closer, but still far away, it started up and drove up the walking path to the end by the tennis courts where it then moved to Woodlawn. I know this vehicle is not much more than a golf cart, however I questioned if it should be driving on the walking path. Sharing in case it is something Parks would like to know about. Thank you.
