A question about pipe draining into Sheridan Creek. What is draining, from where? Over more than a decade I have observed the bank erode away from the pipe and the concrete support move (or is the pipe pulling away from the bank)? As a frequent Park visitor i am curious about what's going on with the pipe. Thanks for any info you can share.

Response: Caden Swanson commented on this case.
CBU Eng investigated this on 9/26/2025 and found this to be from the storm system originating from the sloped area near the pool. No action needed.
Question: In the photo with thise new case # (the left half of the photo i sent with the original case) there is a access ("manhole") cover much closer to the central path. Is that a cover opening to a storm drain that somehow connects ground water with the white PCP pipe draining in to the Creek? Thanks in advance.

Hi! I was just curious if there was any way you all could fill in the mud hole with rocks at the large dog park at Switchyard? My dog always runs straight for the mud and leaves a mess, which keeps us from utilizing the park as much as we would like. There was another muddy spot that was filled in with rocks earlier, and that was a nice addition! Thank you! We love our Bloomington parks!

See case #201657. Two older men sit in the park nearly every day at around 11am smoking cigars right where people want to walk or sit. One of the men is extremely loud and yells vulgarities at people who ask him to stop smoking. Can someone in a position of authority please talk with them and ask them to not smoke anywhere in the park? They usually do it close to the bagel shop, where customers can smell them, but sometimes they sit closer to the bike shop, where everyone walks by on the sidewalk along Kirkwood. Please get them to stop.

Congrats on the Bryan Park Arboretum designation. A suggestion: a guide to all the trees, accessible by QR code to Park visitors. (Assuming you don't plan on physical IDs like the ones in IU's Arboretum). Perhaps include the trees along Sheridan Creek between Woodlawn and Highland(?). Would be a great educational resource. Some years you had a tree identification activity (submit IDs, get a certificate), intended for kids, but I enjoyed doing it.

Thank you for your suggestion. We have already created a free self-guided tree tour at Bryan Park to highlight some of the trees on site. The tour is available on our mobile app, OuterSpatial.
We plan to continue to add more tours and signs with QR codes in the future.
Please make that local too and user-friendly / intuitive. Somewhere on the City / Parks & Rec pages. Link the OuterSpatial thingie there, but honestly, i tried an experiment of looking for that info there. I didn't find anything except events.

Clarification of what i just submitted as case 206040
I meant I didn't find a tree guide "there" meaning the City / Parks & Rec pages. But neither did I with OuterSparial. I jniw that i found an online guide to wild plants (i think) in Switchyard Park.
For a tree guide template you might consider the updated guide to IU's tree "The Woodland Campus."

There are parking spots for people with disabilities in the north Bryan Park parking lot at the end of Stull Avenue, but there is no accessible way for them to get from the parking lot to the park path or the north shelter. I have lived right next to this parking lot for more than 30 years, but it didn't occur to me until today, when I was walking across the wet grass, that there is no path for people with mobility issues. It seems to me this should be rectified -- I never see anyone using those accessible spaces. Perhaps that's why. Thanks!
