The small karst feature (sinkhole) on the northeast side of Weimer Lake (in Wapehani Park) has greatly increased in size and depth over the last several months, and the lake is draining away! The water level has dropped by a few feet, and the lake surface has shrunk by half. The city already lost one reservoir this way in the 1940s (the one in Leonard Springs Park); would not it be a shame to lose another one? Is there a way to plug the hole (dumping a truckload of gravel and cement into it, perhaps?) before the entire lake flows aways? The picture shows the lake and the sinhole as of a week or so ago; since then, the water level dropped another foot or two, as the sinkhole's draining point is now much deeper than it was back then. And there seems to be more space for further drop...

Hello there, My name is Yuzhen, and I live in Kensington park. We have been enjoying the Schmalz Farm Park in the neighborhood. My son loved to play in the playground in the park. He is a big kid now, and he likes sport more. So do his friends in the neighborhood! It seems to me that most of the parks in Bloomington have some kind of sports facility (neat!). I wonder if the city has any plan for building sports facility in the Schmalz Farm Park (a basketball court would be lovely, but any kind of sports facility will be great:)). Re: Switchyard park. Some "cross traffic does not stop" signs where appropriate near the Rogers entrance might be considered. Maybe some "buzz strips" to slow incoming traffic off Rogers and give an aural alert to bikers/peds/distracted drivers.

Time to clear out all the saplings, vines, weeds, etc. from underneath all the Norway spruce in Bryan Park. No my first report on this, but now it is (late) fall.

#171036 followup. Thanks! In fact, I didn't realize that most of the work had already been done when I filed that uReport. Not so the saplings under the spruce closest to Henderson on the south side of the asphalt path. I'll check this morning, but until a few days ago there were 2 or 3 bigger than I could get thumb and first finger around.

I had my pointer mix puppy at the Ferguson Dog Park today, February 16, 2020. She was enjoying her time playing with all the other dogs until a Doberman came in and was instantly playing too rough. The other dog was pushing mine into the mud and biting at her legs. She is okay but just wanted to make you guys aware of the situation since myself and another person had to leave the dog park due to this Doberman playing too rough and their owner not stepping in.
