While l love the permeable pavers at Hopewell Commons, I feel they create an unsafe environment. The pavers cross Morton, making that area appear to be an extension of the park. It doesn't look like a road, so I fear park users, especially children, won't look for cars. I think warning signs or additional stop signs could increase safety

Bicyclists in parks and on trails do not notify walkers that they are coming up behind them. Other countries have bells on the bikes which the bikers use to alert someone that they are coming up behind. It is startling to have someone fly by, esp when walking a dog. Dogs could dart out in the path of the bike if the walker is not aware the biker is behind them. The City needs signage in every park and on every trail to remind bikers that they need to signal their approach when coming up behind a walker, esp one with a dog/dogs.

There is a weeping willow at the corner of E Southdowns Dr and S Hawthorne that took a hit during this afternoons storm. We have cleaned most of it up and stacked it nearby for pickup. The problem is, there is still a very large, broken limb hanging dangerously above the walkway that we could not reach. For this branch to be removed, will require a lift and bucket to reach. While walking my dog in lower cascade park yesterday, I noticed parking lots were full and people were parking in grass area since most of the parking spaces are blocked off. It is unusually warm this year so it may be a good idea to open up the parking lots early this year.

The bathroom at the lower cascades park has been locked the past 5 Saturdays and or Sundays that my family has visited. There is no "out of order" sign. But it worries me because there are hundreds of people that visit that park, especially on the weekends. I actually wondered if maybe the park itself is closed on weekends during the day (around 1 o'clock in the afternoon). So my questions are: -is the bathroom supposed to be locked during the day on the weekends? If not, -when will someone reopen it? -what are the hours that the park is actually open with access to the bathroom? I don't know if your responses to u-reports are public or even available to me (without leaving an email address). But I hope they are, so that the other parents can also be informed.
