Sidewalk is raised about 5-6 inches by tree root, making it dangerous for pedestrians and individuals with walkers or wheelchairs. This is on the north side of East Canada drive at 2519.
Sidewalk is sinking and cracked
looking for resolution from previous case #182211. Can someone please reach out to me about a curb potentially going around my property to stop the trucks, cars, and standing water from eating away at my yard.
We recently had a tree removed from the spot shown, as well as having a tree trimmed on the other side of our driveway. The tree that was removed was rotted out as it was deemed unsafe. We moved to this location in 2019 with a new baby on the way. Fast forward 2 years and just after the tree was removed by the City of Bloomington, our now 2 y/o plays in front of our house and has now fallen multiple times because of the drop off on the sidewalk due to the tree roots that have lifted the sidewalk. Additionally, small animals have now made this area their home. This is the same problem on the opposite side of our driveway by the electrical boxes due to overgrown root systems of trees that were frankly too large to plant in there specific spots.The lift in the sidewalk from the tree roots has caused a major trip/fall hazards that are at least a 6in drop. Please advise.
Sidewalk and driveway entrance concrete is torn up and needs to be repaired. My wife is blind and just walking in front of our house is dangerous for her and anyone walking by.
Accessibility Issue: No Curb Cut. Intersection of E Covenanter and the entry to Kroger's gas station (unnamed road) This intersection has no curb cut which forces wheelchair users to go out into the street, which is a traffic hazard and dangerous. Please fix.
Trip hazard by tree in front of residence.
The part of the curb on the West side of Sare Rd, as showed in the picture, protrudes into the lane unexpectedly and narrows it. As you can see it has black tire marks and the cement is chipped as well – indicating that cars hot the curb all the time. We walk or run there every day and this is an accident waiting to happened. A few days ago, as we were walking along, an SUV hit the curb, right there, and continued to weave for 50 yards. If it had jumped the curb we would have been hit. Generally speaking the walking path is too close to the road and a guard rail should be installed between the Hyde Park Village and at least to Spicewood.
Dear Madam/Sir, I am writing to report an issue concerning the curb and storm drain located at the southern end of Stratford Dr, in front of our residence (3020 S Stratford Dr, Bloomington IN, 47401). The curb is currently obstructed by leaves, twigs, and organic sediment (as shown in the attached photo), impeding effective drainage during rainfall. As a result, our front yard experiences flooding with every rain shower. We kindly request that the curb and its immediate surroundings be thoroughly cleaned to restore proper drainage functionality. Once this maintenance is completed, we are committed to maintaining the storm drain area to ensure its continued effectiveness. Thank you for your attention to this matter. There is a damaged sidewalk with a large crack and significantly uneven surfaces causing a tripping hazard. Many less severe problem spots on sidewalks in the neighborhood have been fixed in the last 1-2 years, but this one was not. Thank you for the attention.
