Sidewalk and driveway entrance concrete is torn up and needs to be repaired. My wife is blind and just walking in front of our house is dangerous for her and anyone walking by.
Accessibility Issue: No Curb Cut. Intersection of E Covenanter and the entry to Kroger's gas station (unnamed road) This intersection has no curb cut which forces wheelchair users to go out into the street, which is a traffic hazard and dangerous. Please fix.
The roundabout just east of Sherwood Oaks Church.. Sare road. I reported a piece of concrete there on east side of roundabout.. Sunday I noticed it was still there and wanted to let you know again. It’s not a big deal but I enjoy the roundabouts and this broken concrete is an eyesore Also the roundabout west of Sherwood Osks church aft High street and Goat park has a broken curb section and concrete chunk on west side of roundabout Thanks
Trip hazard by tree in front of residence.
The part of the curb on the West side of Sare Rd, as showed in the picture, protrudes into the lane unexpectedly and narrows it. As you can see it has black tire marks and the cement is chipped as well – indicating that cars hot the curb all the time. We walk or run there every day and this is an accident waiting to happened. A few days ago, as we were walking along, an SUV hit the curb, right there, and continued to weave for 50 yards. If it had jumped the curb we would have been hit. Generally speaking the walking path is too close to the road and a guard rail should be installed between the Hyde Park Village and at least to Spicewood.
Follow up on uReport Case #158991: In spring of 2017 I filed a report with the city about the downspout drainage from my neighbor's property (2802 S Forrester), which dispenses rainwater directly onto the sidewalk in front of my house. They were issued a notice by the city, and they cut back the relevant downspout as indicated in the resolution of the ticket. However, thereafter they built a masonry channel from the end of the downspout that continues to direct the rainwater from the downspout onto the sidewalk in front of my property. When it rains moderately or heavily, the sidewalk on my property turns into a river, still, and in the seasonal transition to and from winter, the sidewalk winds up coated with ice. They masonry channel is topped with a plywood cover that is disguised with landscape rocks. I wanted to talk with them about this directly rather than file a report, but for 3 weeks I have not seen them at their house. Their house is reportedly under contract for sale, and I think it only fair that this issue be resolved (ideally by extending the drainage under the sidewalk to the curb so it no longer causes a negative impact on my property) before they sell it, so that new owners do not have to correct something they are not responsible for. A tree has fallen over a fence and is blocking the sidewalk.
The southwest corner of 3rd and Walnut has a curb ramp that is too high. It's one inch and shouldn't be over 1/2." So if a person with a rollator is going to up that ramp, their wheels hit and it the top goes forward and the wheels don't go up. This happened to a blind person I was escorting. It needs an asphalt patch to smooth it out and make it traversable.
There is a damaged sidewalk with a large crack and significantly uneven surfaces causing a tripping hazard. Many less severe problem spots on sidewalks in the neighborhood have been fixed in the last 1-2 years, but this one was not. Thank you for the attention.
Sidewalk always floods. Forces pedestrians to walk in the mud or on the street. Not safe.
