Thank you for the quick response and repair of the crumbling pavement and holes in the street in front of our house on Tapps Turn. I wrote to you late in the afternoon and early the next morning the work space had been marked and then repaired shortly after that. We greatly appreciate this.
Thanks,
Steve Ulrey

Please update your police officers on policies regarding insurance, warranted searched, and speed limit postings. I was pulled over yesterday by a police officer who said I was tailgating yet speeding, and when I explained I was tailgating because I had to slam on my brakes since he pulled out into the lane. I believed he was making an emergency maneuver, however was just trying to get in traffic. He pulled me over, said he would cite me if I did not have my insurance, which I did, but it is also a law that I have 24 hours to provide that proof. It is also a law that if he has no reason to search my trunk, he cannot. However, he asked and I, politely, said yes. However, this was not necessary as there was no probable cause to search. Luckily my father is IMPD and was in direct contact with his supervisor. But I would like to make the city aware of this incident, as I felt very uncomfortable. Especially when said officer kept saying things were expired, then changing his mind when I said they were not. He was very unprofessional, and as someone who has been around law enforcement for 21 years, exhibited very concerning behavior.
Thank you.

They were at a light by 3rd St.and the city vehicle was not signaling at the intersection. The city driver then cut them off (he was on the phone). Further down by 17th St. the driver slowed down to 10 mph and as they went to pass him he started giving them "dirty looks". The city driver was in Fleet Vehicle #409 at 3:15 today.

2 Bird scooter, parallel to each other, taking up half of sidewalk, south side Hunter at Woodlawn. The companies want them convenient for pickup? (Could be worse since there is room still to walk

I have lived in Bloomington the past 4 years, and have never had a run in with the police. I had been driving a nicer, 2015, Hyundai Sonata. Unfortunately I got in an accident where I have had to use a much older car. Since driving this older car I have been pulled over 3 separate times. One time was for "speeding" where I was going 35 in a 40. When I told the police officer I was going 5 under, due to traffic, he tried to tell me my license and plate were suspended. When I showed him it was not he got very frustrated. The other day I got pulled over for a headlight being out where 4 difference police cars surrounded me. I had a passenger, who was 22, and they asked him if he had been drinking and he said he had two beers and they got mad at him for legal drinking? I am the daughter of an IMPD officer and I think your police officers are extremely biased on the types of cars they pull over. I had messaged about the first offense since he illegally searched my trunk, and have yet to hear back three months later. I know police procedure, however your department does not. This is very concerning because I have been around police my entire life and have studied Criminal Law for the past 3 years. Your police need to understand the correct procedures and stop taking advantage of college kids doing nothing wrong.

There is a problem with enforcement by HAND. Months ago I requested the City stop the trash and garbage coming from 1417 West Habitat Street. It went from Matthew Swinney in HAND, to the City Street Department, to the Director of HAND, to Rosie Beaman of HAND, who told me a decision would be reached last week. This week she does not return my calls.
I still have my neighbors trash in my yard. My other neighbor still has trash in his yard. There is still trash on City Property. There are still trash cans left permanently on City property, despite an ordinance against it.
HAND has pictures.
Besides the unsightly view, there is the attraction for vermin and the health risks.
I just want the trash picked up, and the cans moved back on his property, where they belong.

Thank you Jeff & Cody for a job well done repairing/patching the area where the street meets our driveway! This is my first time using UReport. I did not expect such a quick response to the UReport I submitted Friday evening. Your courteous & polite personalities represent the City of Bloomington well! I very much appreciate all you do! Thanks again! Lori Brenner

For years I have problems with my neighbor's trash in my yard. His cans are on Habitat Street, his own private dump, despite a City Ordinance prohibiting it. He does not empty his trashcans, he does not cover them; animals take trash to nearby yards and other parts of City property.
In the past, Wykoff was not helpful, and Mayor Kruzan was not interested, and the police had other priorities.
Recently it has bounced around in City bureaucracy for months: HAND, the Street Department, back to HAND, over to Title VI, back to HAND, and back to the Street Department, which they will not enforce the Ordinance. Trash still appears in my yard.
There must be organizational and management issues, but the results are the same: no solutions. The appearance is either incompetence or corruption.
I am tired of the run-around; I have lost the use of my property and it's full value. I just want the cans moved back on his property, away from mine. If the cans are not a real problem, then they can not be a real problem on his own property. The next escalation goes to the Police Department, the Herald-Times, or the Courts.

there are porch couches at 611 and 616 n Washington. why can't HAND enforce city ordinances to have these removed?
