I have been threatened on Clear Creek trail before. It does not feel safe, especially when alone. I am an advocate for those unhoused but to have a camp with individuals experiencing significant instabilities next to a remote trail with little police presence is unsafe. There are connections between safety and those who are not stably housed, so location matters as to where camping should be allowed in a way that can be monitored better than the current "wild west out-of-sight approach" of the present City Administration. Strangers are more likely to be victims of crimes committed by homeless individuals than rates from housed perpetrators. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7641002/ Beyond the unhoused, in general a greater safety presence on trails would be appreciated. Call boxes for emergencies for instance and other options are fine beyond standard law enforcement. Even just public safety "parks patrol" non-LEO would honestly be even better than LEO.

Just wondering if there is actually an Erin Hatch that works for the city?? I noticed including my ureports that were assigned to her way over a month ago about city tree trimming has not been addressed. So I'm not sure if she doesn't work for the city and it's not being assigned to no one. Or someone isn't really doing their job. Thanks for your time.

The federalist paperNews article reads Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Orders National Guard, Police to 'Return' Illegal Aliens To The Border . I'd like to see the city and the contempt for the United States after all the statements made in the rededication of the Monuments and or Memorials that was defaced a number of times by those whom placate a surrender to invasion ie forms of constructive reason. I'd like to see my city or county reps repeal the Boy cott notice of May 2010 v/s acting like communist cowards all to willing to help destroy America. My salute to the great state of Texas.

News just broke about the redevelopment of yet another downtown property, this time on Kirkwood. Proposals for changing the cultural feel, look, and integrity of our beloved town should require better public notice of being on an agenda for vote. This occurs not just for the planning commission, but other city meetings as well. Turning our town into a cityscape of 3+ stories everywhere is not the “Bloomington feel” that is supposed to be at the heart of every project, and it is not what alumni and townies for decades have fallen in love with and raised their families here for. Do better with actually listening to residents’ thoughts as a whole for the town, not just the elite your admin has chosen to sit on a council/commission (especially those made up of “representatives” who live in $500k+ properties and do not have a pulse for the majority of permanent residents that live and work in this town). When one thinks of Bloomington, the residents can assure you it is not being surrounded by brick, large buildings, and lack of flora when walking or driving through any part of town. However, this is what this administration is turning Bloomington into - large, brick (purdue-eque), concrete and blacktop filled spaces with a lack of culture and quirky original Bloomington feel. A shame that I would need to relocate from my hometown and family to better embody this original appeal of Bloomington.

News reads, ALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) is one of 16 senators that introduced a bipartisan proposal to reform the Electoral Count Act of 1887. I'd ask the city to protect our election and make sure as I sought to do in all the calls I made to election board to raise the concern of and hopefully keep out of the white house etal those like Mrs. Clinton predisposition of the possibilities of the influence of judgement dangers via the Hitler Molar Mic God or Ghost effect. Homeless people are again living in People’s Park. They’re using drugs, fighting, leaving trash everywhere, screaming and yelling, urinating and defecating and have taken over most of the benches and tables. It also appears that they are sleeping there overnight. We bought ice cream across the street and expected to have a nice Sunday afternoon in the park for thirty minutes or so… we tried sitting on the steps of a business on the opposite side of Dunn Street but the shrubbery nearby was probably soaked in urine based on the stench. We simply left at that point….. No other Indiana city of the same size and population has a homeless population of 1 % of that of Bloomington and that is directly attributable to the fact that Bloomington attracts these people by virtue of feeding them and enabling them unlike anywhere else in Indiana. I’ve lived in and near Bloomington since 1974 and this has simply gotten totally out of hand.

Thank you for keeping our city and government safe! COVID protocols enacting better safety in the city hall building was a great thing to come out of a hard pandemic. Us constituents appreciate having moved many functions to entirely online and reducing the requirement of having to come downtown to simply pay or drop a paper of. In light of the many many tragedies that keep occurring in public spaces, we feel safer having fewer members of the public be able to freely explore the showers space. An appointment or meeting to get assistance is just such a better alternative than no safety. Thanks for modernizing and accepting the remote and online functions, like the rest of the world!

In regard to the additional % food tax downtown, the admin finally announced they’re going to attempt to do the project but no end in site for the tax. Again, I have heard, read, and seen other complaints that citizens are tired of this tax. In a place that is not NY or Chicago but has the cost of living as such with no pay scale in town keeping individuals on pace with inflation, this tax is impacting locals the most. How do you expect any citizens or employees in this town to afford supporting local business when they cannot afford to eat there? What is the timeline for this tax to expire and officially end? Indiana already had a high enough sales tax compared to other states as it is. Many are seriously concerned with how little care this administration has with cost of living and income differences in this town and county (since many cannot/intentionally do not live within city limits)
