ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL: a possible neglected animal should be investigated at the address: 3417 E. 3rd Street. There is what looks to be an American Eskimo in a pin with no bedding and even though i walk by it every single day, I have never seen anyone pay any attention to it. This seems cruel to me.

My neighbor is putting out poison of some kind and I have outdoor cats. So far two chipmunks have been poisoned and one is dead, the other is dying as I write this. I am very concerned for the safety of our cats and dog. I too am upset by the cruel poisoning of these innocent chipmunks. Who do I contact about this? This neighbor has done this before, year after year. I have heard them discussing it. One of our cats was recently very ill and nearly died. We now believe he got into the poison or ate an animal that had been poisoned. What can we do? Thank you, Lisa Cameron and Caroline Pynes.

I discovered a very young fawn lying in a flower bed on the north side of my home which appears to be near death. I have been unable to reach animal control. What do you suggest?

We have a deer in Bloomington IN who has damaged her right rear leg. It looks like she got into a car accident and has a road rash on her left hip. Her right rear leg dangles and we don't know if she has a broken hip too. She struggles to walk and is very thin and emaciated despite summer being her best time of year for food. She has three fawns that follow her or sometimes wander around without her. Is there anything that can be done with the mother and her fawns? We are concerned that she will die this winter as it seems very difficult for her to find food and get around. It is also very disturbing to see her walk around as she is obviously very hurt. Thanks.

It is disturbing to be in our neighborhood right now because we have a female deer that I have written about before who has a dangling rear right leg and a broken hip. She had 3 fawns this summer, but yesterday we only saw 1 fawn with her. She is in heat right now, and there is a male buck chasing her incessantly. We saw them 3 times in our neighborhood yesterday late afternoon. If the buck mounts her, she will probably end up severely damaged because she cannot take his weight with her broken hip/leg. And if she happens to survive...I doubt she will survive birthing a fawn or two next spring. I don't enjoy seeing animals suffer this much living in a city where deer aren't really supposed to be living. This would be a different issue had it been in the country. Bloomington has a deer problem and I wonder if it will take a killing of a child before anything gets done. Numerous of my friends have had their dogs attacked by deer, children attacked by deer and a deer went rampant inside a resident's home. Please advise....
