Hello, I'm reaching out on behalf of my employer Hanapin Marketing. We currently reside in the Showers complex at 501 N. Morton Street, and our employees share the Showers Red Parking Lot with County employees. Over the last 6 months, we have all noticed a rise in crime in the parking lot, particularly with theft. I've attached several police reports that have been filed in the last few months to support these claims. These are the incidents that were reported to the police, however, there have been others as well that were never filed. For example, in early January one of our employees had his door handle ripped off his car entirely. We are hoping that the city will notice this trend and assist us in our request to advocate for higher security and/or additional patrols in that area to deter thefts. Your homeless people problem within the city of Bloomington is out of control. It is ruining the city an it's image. Even Inpls TV news is bashing the city for it's pathetic attempt at dealing with the issue. People feel unsafe as do local students. Who gets the blame when something terrible does occur? The mayor's office has certainly known of this problem for quite some time now. It will be the mayor's office having to answer the questions of the victims whenever something does occur. Fix it. The people of Bloomington deserve better.

Hello, I would like to give feedback on some unfortunate observations recently on Kirkwood Avenue and the surrounding streets. This took place last Friday evening around 8:30. We took a stroll after dinner to walk around the downtown area, and it was the first time in 20 years of living here, I felt unsafe. I witnessed people doing drugs, drinking on the street, and what appeared to be a drug deal, right on Kirkwood. I have to say I have come to expect public intoxication from college age students, but I think the police do a very good job of handling those cases. The people involved in the activities I mentioned are not college students. Most looked like they could be homeless or struggling in some way. I understand there is no easy solution. These people need therapy, but they have to be willing to try to improve their lives. I'm not advocating arresting the people. I do think a stronger police presence is needed in these busy areas. I'd recommend posting cadets or others in uniforms strategically in the area. Maybe better lighting and security cameras would help. Thanks, Aaron Perry

I live at 1431 N Kinser pike but happen to notice a dead deer at the rear of the property at 1427 N Kinser pk.Have tried to contact animal control but that is useless. Something needs to be done about this situation!

re: case #160131 According to BPD at about 8:30pm, after numerous phone calls about a dead deer lying in the street at this address, animal control has been notified and are on it.10:00 pm and deer is still there.

Your website says I am eligible for a street parking permit in zone 4, but when I called to ask about getting an application they told me "the website is wrong."

Your website shows I am within zone 4 parking eligibility but when I called parking they told me "the website was wrong." My previous report was under my work address. This is close to my correct home address.
