November of 2013 my truck died and I decided to try to go all of 2014 without a vehicle. So far so good. I hike and bike the B-line a LOT at all times of day/night. I have recently noticed more of a police presence there, I'm guessing in response to the recent crime spree there. I've also noticed police talking with parks workers there and stickers (on the parks worker's vehicles) alerting us that the park workers can alert police (and I imagine EMS) if needed. Today I saw a city worker bush hogging a bunch of tall weeds that a criminal could hide out in waiting to pounce. I say all that to say a BIG THANK YOU! That B-line is too nice to let it be ruined by a handful of thugs. Thanks again to all of you....and 'book em Dano.'
Memo from Street Dept., Limbs at 620 S Ballantine in the street, but not blocking parking space; limbs at 619 S Ballantine on the side of the road. Requested we tell property owners limbs are their responsibility to bundle for yard waste pickup. The Street Dept. is now doing limb pickup as they did last year.
Abandoned vehicle: There is a red Ford Taurus that appears to be abandoned in the parking lot at 806 Auto Mall Rd. Vehicle has been in the same location since February. Tires are all flat and parts of the car are coming off. Indiana Plate 380LHY
Public spaces, be they roundabouts, street corners, boulevard medians or just the grassy strips along sidewalks are regularly cluttered with signs for events and services. What are the rules about these things? I suppose there is a spectrum of acceptability, ranging from school performances to community theater to summer camps, but more and more often I am seeing them being used to advertise businesses. In the attached photo you will see that there are signs on the Moores Pike traffic circle for the C3 bar in Renwick. Earlier this year the south side of town, and I imagine elsewhere, was awash in signs for some transient snake oil salesman. I would like to know what the law allows and why there is no enforcement. I think signs for a bar really cross the line. Thank you, Bob Flynn 1917 E Arden Drive
I wondered if a City Engineer could take a look at the wall in my backyard. It is a retainer wall for Henderson. It is showing signs of buckling. I think it might be a safety issue.
The Elm tree behind our backyard by the S Adam road side appears to be dry/dead this summer. More than half of the tree had been removed by the City a few years ago due to broken branches and icing in winter. Can the City come check/remove the tree before it cause any damage? Thank you.
Man in white house next door to 516 (driving a silver Cube) backed in to a car parked on the street that belongs to a girl living across the street. He proceeded to back in to it twice within a minute while trying to get in parking spot.
Snow plow has knocked down mailbox. Fix is temporary.
There has been a deer hanging from a tree, gutted for several days. It’s in a tree on the main road Coolidge.
