Does Bloomington have an ordnance requiring Land lords to do background check on tenants before entering into contracts either tenants? I’m told this help make landlords aware of crimes against children and sex offenders . Is this true if so can I have a copy of this emailed to me? I have looked and can’t seem to find any such ordinance . I’m hoping this is a real thing. I’d like to bring this to my town board to be put in place in my home town to help keep children safe as much as we can. Thank you for your help.

I wrote to the City, ticket 169435, and felt the reaction was strange. The case was closed after Parks and Rec said they do not oversee that area. That was my point. Perhaps if some development was done there, the situation would be better.

Bloomington seems to be having less and less affordable housing compared to the increase of luxury apartments and high-end housing being built, which is doing nothing to help this town given how much poverty, homelessness, and gentrification plagues Bloomington.

To who it may concern, After 3 or more maintenance requests in the last week for our air conditioning at apartment 123 of The Arch Bloomington, the General manager will not do anything about it beyond sending maintenance to keep adding free-on when there is an obvious other issue.
