The Royal Toyota South car lot has a loud speaker that projects its phone ringing for the whole world to hear. I am more than 1,800 feet away from the car lot, through the woods, and can hear the phone ring while in my house listening to music. Between 3:45pm and 4pm today, it rang 12 times. I've read the applicable section of the municipal code, 14.09.030(c)(4). The language that I find applies is, "the sound produced persists . . . intermittently for a period of at least fifteen minutes and can be heard outside of the immediate premises from the location." I have reported this noise violation multiple times with no resolution. Is the solution that I call the police every time the car lot is a nuisance? I do not want to waste the police's limited resources on something that should be easily resolved administratively by the city government (and with technology; can the car lot get a cell phone, a pager, an answering machine, something?). uReport Case #166220 did get referred to the police, who referred the case to city legal in January of 2019. The phone has continued to ring since that time. Can we finally get this issue resolved and bring some peace and quiet to the south side from this incessant noise violation from the car lot? City Arborist told me to contact HAND for tree code violations. There are at least 1/2 dozen dead trees at entrance to The Arbors Apartments on E. Moores Pike. Several large limbs have fallen recently, causing hazard to people, dogs and cars. Manager is aware of problem & has said he plans to remove them, but weeks have passed & no action has been taken. I walk my dog on the path & road where these trees are & it frightens me to walk by them, especially on a windy day.

I'm not sure if this would be a City of Bloomington issue or not, but I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. My wife and I moved into the house at 322 E. 1st St. last July and since we've moved here there has been an utility wire hanging down from the pole roped up on our fence behind our garage (the yellow one). There's also what appears to be a separate coax cable hanging from the pole on the roof of our garage. Our home was not wired for cable when we bought it so I assume it might be the previous line. We are hoping to beautify and clean up our backyard this spring and we'd like to get these wires taken care of. I assume they aren't hot, but I obviously don't want to test my theory. Who should we get a hold of to get this taken care of? Is there a way to tell who owns and is responsible for things dangling off this utility pole? Thanks, -James

Ms. Wells states that parking is only available on the east side of buckner st and that there are no sidewalks on the east side. Ms. Wells states that the property owner on the east side have planted flowers and ornamental grasses next to the street, so now when people park and get out of there cars they are stepping into these flower beds. She thinks that these flowers beds are in the right of way and should be removed.
