Thank-you to so those who spoke to Bloomington High School about the PA speaker in recent weeks. Between away games and what appears to be an effort to reduce the volume, I have seen a significant difference. However, I am not sure why, but tonight seems to be worse than ever. Inside our house, I can still hear every word of the loudspeaker. I know when there are touchdowns. I know who scored what. Please speak to the high school again.

I have been told it is legal to harvest a deer with a crossbow, on your private property, within city limits in Bloomington. I understand the appropriate state license and deer tag are a requirement when performing any hunt. Is this allowed? I cannot find the information online, nor any instruction. Can you provide this direction or point me to the correct point of contact? Thank you very much.

Start enforcing against IU golf cart type vehicles. Please require at least a slow moving vehicle emblem or lamp as allowed by Indiana Code for municipalities. Plus they don't use turn signals, don't get over to allow passing, etc. Arrogant, dangerous, and obstructive.

Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to remove the numerous pairs of shoes that are on South Park Avenue, specifically the north end near Atwater Avenue. There are two sections of wires if you start heading from north to south on the road that are loaded with these shoes. The removal of these shoes would help with the overall sense of security in the neighborhood and it is always nice to remove an eyesore. Grafitti on the wall of Chipotle on the side of the sidewalk. I have contacted Chipotle they started to clean it off, but then stopped. It has been there for over 6 months. The Graffiti is on the wall across from the entrance of Vintage Vogue by GW.

John, I wanted to let you know what a wonderful job Bet Savich did last week to help the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. I volunteer there, and found that the just-closed Marsh West had donated over a thousand wall calendars to the Food Bank along with other things. The Food Bank had no use for the calendars and was about to recycle them, so I contacted Bet, she sent out an email to her community partners, and I was able to find homes for more than 700 calendars at the Bloomington Housing Authority, Hannah House, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Crawford Apartments, MCCSC Adult Literacy, the MCPL's VITAL program, SCCAP, and the Animal Shelter. Bet made it so easy for me to locate the nonprofits that could benefit from these calendars, the Food Bank didn't have to drown the Recycling Center in calendars, and the nonprofits' clients got nice calendars for free. She offers such a wonderful service for the city! Best, Margie

All twelve mature trees on Reed Court appear to be dead- perhaps of elm disease.
