What are these channels called, technically? I call this one the "Davis Street Canal." There's another between Mitchell and Eastside at Hunter. And one somewhere in Prospect Hill or the Near West Side. I often walk past the one along Davis, and always wonder what they are called, officially. Please satisfy my curiosity, if you can. Thanks!!
The two trees on either side of my driveway have branches that are starting to scrape our cars as we pull in. I have tried to clip some of them but the trees need to be pruned back from the trunks. The lower branches are obstructing our driveway.
Corner house at intersection of S Eastside Drive and E Second. Dead branch has fallen from a tree in the yard and is hanging over E Second Street on another branch. It may fall during the next storm and land directly on the travelled part of the road.
This is just one location that I've noticed in the last 24 hours. But the hemlock has started to bloom and I'm seeing it everywhere. I had a friend who picked it thinking it was Queen Anne's lace who ended up in the hospital so I think it may be time for another PSA about the plant as it is starting to really take hold in town! (I notified the real estate agent who was selling the house for the other place I saw it on 4th street. I also saw it on University drive on my way to work this morning but didn't get the address as I was on my bike but it was on University between Lincoln and Henderson on the south side of the street.) There is a large dead tree outside the Elkins apartment building at 410 S. Fess. It is overhanging several utility lines, and it has a big broken limb dangling over the sidewalk.
There is a dead tree 200 ft north of property line between 802 & 806 W Country Club drive that is dropping limbs and creating a hazard. Several limbs are in the yard.

At the YMCA Field house, In the grass next to the SCHOOL sign are several connection boxes. Hit by a car? Vandalized? Wires are sticking out. AT&T?
Aggressive solicitor this evening around 7:30pm. Ignored multiple no solicitor signs and would not leave property. Was told he was with a window company.
