There is a pole/light at this stop that has metal bands wrapped in two spots for a trash can to be attached. Although the trash can is not attached and sits beside the pole, that is not the problem. Today, one of the metal bands (which sticks out at the end of its seal point) sliced my leg open. Luckily I had a first aid kit, but that is dangerous.
There is a homeless camp developing in the woods on North Summit Street, between W 11th St and W Cottage Grove Ave. We live right next door on W Cottage Grove Ave. There are mountains of trash accumulating, used syringes on the ground, broken glass, yelling and screaming at all hours of the day and night, people loitering in the middle of the street so people can't get through, people changing in the street, broken glass, and numerous inoperable vehicles taking up the entire street that some are living in, in addition to the tents. I understand this may be private property, but given that we got a fine simply for our trash bin accidentally being outside an extra day, there has to be something that can be done. We will continue to report it and report it until it is handled effectively. I do not feel safe or comfortable going to and from my house or walking my dogs, and there are several children that live in this vicinity. The Boys and Girls Club and Middle School are right down the road. I know the homeless issue is rampant in Bloomington and there were two recent homeless campsite evictions. In the news, one of the homeless men interviewed said they were just going to move further down the B-Line. Well, here they are. This isn't safe or sanitary and is disturbing the peace of mind of the hardworking individuals who actually live here.
Dog outside barking incessantly for over 2 hours. Can here inside my home which is behind this yard.
There are several junky cars parked on the grass in the backyard of 703 W 7th Street. I believe this is an environmental hazard to the soil. If possible, please have these cars removed. Thank you.
On Friday, July 12, a crew from JE Reedy pushed through my double locked gate to clear a path so they could install fiber overhead (in a neighborhood that already has fiber). They seriously cut at least 3 trees: 2 are trees that get no taller than 15 feet, and a pine that was near the pole they needed to climb (Duke has cleared this area for years and never had to hack the pine). They said that they came by on Thursday but they did not leave any notice that they would be working in my backyard so they were trespassing. They could have done their work without destroying my fence row but that would have involved creativity and a little effort. I am sickened, angry and sad and want someone in the City to see this mess and come up with a way to make this right. I have several photos but could only upload one.
Enormous tree with predominantly dead limbs is a hazard to those of us walking past on a regular basis. The owner needs to remove this ongoing threat.
Mike Frey - 317-727-3371 Mike is the owner of Bub's on the corner of 9th Street and N. Morton. The last parking spot on 9th street before you hit Morton has been turned in to a handicap space. According to Mike this space is on a hefty incline that was once riddles with pot holes. He stated that it is smooth, but that it is not an accessible space by any means being on a hill. Unprofessional demolition occurring. Dust and particles (asbestos?) flying everywhere. Once the City/County have given permission to demolish, is there an office that oversees the activity? Who checks for all the lead paint flakes that are released? The crew who did this looked Mennonite/Amish, but they might not be because they were using industrial equipment - and making a huge mess.
