This landlord must have put up a sign for at least 5 private parking spots. I thought private parking would have a price. Brenda Lane

I want to apply for a Neighborhood Parking Permit, and found a page of FAQ, but did not see a link to the actual parking permit application.

The changes to the Zone 4 parking permits for MCPL staff is a disgraceful lapse of judgement. The city MUST offer alternative parking options for hardworking public servants commuting to the downtown area. If it is too much work to discover a reasonable accommodation then you must relent and return the permits to the MCPL Human Resources department to disseminate amongst staff who need them. To serve the public we have to get to where we serve the public reliably. In the winter, in the rain, in record-breaking heat, and especially during the university's academic year when downtown parking is at its scarcest. To be treated like a problem that will scuttle away in the name of making a little more money on parking meters is folly compounded by blatant cruelty.

The owner of this car has a private parking space on the 500 block of West Smith Avenue. (Not sure of the house number. Sorry.) As you can see, he is not within the lines. Smith Ave. is a narrow street and said 'outside the lines' parking makes it difficult for UPS/USPS, emergency, and construction vehicles to pass through easily. I've spoken to him "in-person" to politely remind him to not park in the middle of the street. Would a ticket with a fine attached get his attention? I hope so. He doesn't seem to be moved to change his parking behavior by kind yet direct words from a concerned neighbor.

This vehicle routinely parks on the handicap ramp near the county/IU offices at the City Hall complex. The one next to it also didn't appear to have pertinent plates or a pass today. Are these not handicap spots? I noticed there was not a pole and placard like on other handicap accessible spots in the lot. But even if not handicap spots (though blue lines and paint markings should be removed) it still isn't even a spot at all but instead an access ramp.

Hi! I am requesting parking lines be drawn in the parking area on 4th Street in front of 511 W 4th St. There is room for 5 cars to park comfortably and safely in this area. Frequently, people park incorrectly in this area, taking up multiple spots and limited the number of cars that can park in the area. I operate a business at 511 W 4th Street, Suite #2. We are a small PR firm that employs 20 people in Bloomington. We own the office space at 511 W 4th Suite 2. We would love to be able to maximize this convenient parking area for our employees by having parking lines drawn.

510 E Smith AVE

East Smith Ave, the portion of the road that 510 East Smith Ave resides on, is a non-residential parking area. This needs to be changed to a residential parking area ASAP. I come home from work with nowhere to park, because people going to bars and frats park there, and park horribly. If every other street around this stretch of East Smith Ave, and the rest of East Smith Ave is residential parking only, this portion should be as well. I am tired of people who don't live on the street leaving their horribly parked cars strewn about, causing severe parking issues. Make this portion of East Smith Ave residential parking only so this problem can be rectified. I know I am not the only resident who has an issue with the street parking on this stretch of road.

In my last report, you concluded that the street I live on is residential parking only. Well then add a sign. Because college students (who do not have a parking permit for residential zone 9) are parking on this street from 8am-5pm, and are the main reason for such sorry parking conditions. There is no sign on my particular street, only on streets around it. If it really is a parking permit zone, ADD A SIGN! 80% of people parked here do not have residential zone 9 permits. Yes, I already have one.

Illegal parking happens all the time. Orange curb needs to be repainted. I see people park here all the time and it makes it dangerous when people turn right onto E. University St. from Henderson.
