A man called the Mayor's Office to alert us to the fact that a young man had pulled the top off of a parking meter at the corner of 4th and Washington in front of 5/3 Bank
Parking meter #7641, at the corner of Sixth Street and College, did not register the quarters that I put into the meter. It registered only two of my five quarters so I did not get all of the minutes I paid for.
Yesterday I put money in meter COLS315-B and there was no display and the backlight did not come on. I was not sure if it had actually recorded my putting money in it or not.
All the parking meters on the west side of Madison are completely defaced - they have black ink covering the display so that you cannot tell if/how much you have paid, and the green tag saying what zone for the mobile app has been ripped off. Is it ok to park there? Will you get a ticket even if you can't use the meter correctly?
Downtown tonight, attempted to use parkmobile app to pay for parking and meter did not have a park mobile sticker so that I could choose the location. The space next to the improperly labeled meter was 7664. This happened in a different location on the square 2 nights ago. You need to replace parkmobile stickers as the meters are painted or changed. Your parking enforcement staff are on the streets every day, there is no excuse for these not being maintained properly.
Caller reported parking meter #7631, on 7th Street near Walnut, is eating coins. She was able to put in 1 hour's worth of time but then coins weren't registering time on the meter after 1 hour.
Jennifer works at Wonderlab and said she's tried to report several times this week that the parking meters in front of Wonderlab (on 4th St. between Madison and College, minimally) have been blacked out. It looks to her like someone has taken a Sharpie and completely drawn over the meters' LED panels. She's received many questions from Wonderlab patrons about the meters and whether they're functioning.
Hi! I'm trying to park in zone 7699 and Park Mobile won't let me start a session, saying there is a network error (not just me, others have same error in app). I don't have change and must go to appointment. Can I appeal successfully if I am ticketed? Thanks!
