Resident reports trash buildup and human waste as well as unleashed dogs preventing use of B-Line Trail at intersection of Grimes & Morton.
I first reported this May 20, 2019. I received notice July 15th that it had been taken care of. I took this photo today. There is still a large pile of trash along the trail at Griffy that runs from Lanam Road to Griffy Creek. It includes 2 tires, LOTS of broken glass, and lots of sharp rusted pieces of metal. It is about 1/3 or 1/2 of a mile down the trail from Lanam Road. There is a downed tree and log between the road and trash pile that might need to be cut if a wheeled device is used to remove the trash. My original ticket in May was 168600. Other trees blocking the trail which I reported earlier (ticket 168601) have been removed and I thank you!

A highlight of the document is a new general police order, dated Aug. 13, 2021, with the title “Police Interaction with Homeless Encampments.” ... The city council’s ordinance would have required that personal belongings be stored for 60 days. ... The notices posted on Tuesday note that “Camping is not allowed on public property.” ... Dana Jones, director of Wheeler Mission Ministries, pointed out that for people to be camping out is not something unique to Wheeler Mission’s location. ...
Guest came into WonderLab having found sharps on the trail near the janeway statue. There are piles of abandoned belongings around the side entrance to our WonderGarden on the trail. This is a safety issue for our guests and staff.
The dog water fountain has not been working for many weeks.
The water fountain on the B-Line between 4th and 5th Streets is not operational.
On the B-Line just north of 6th Street, on Saturday mornings there are a few people who block the B-Line Trail during farmers market hours. They set up this obtrusive wooden platform right on the trail. It causes a lot of congestion for trail users in a very busy part of the B-Line. Can someone enforce rules that prevent people from blocking the trail like this? They can setup their board in the grass or somewhere else that is not impeding safe pedestrian and bicycle use of the pedestrian and bicycle trail (which is not a stage for their private and individual use). Maybe they can show up early enough to sign up to busk in the Farmers Market rather than clogging up the flow of people? Check it out. Saturday mornings, B-Line and 6th. Around 10am you will see the full problem they are causing.
