Construction on old 37 through cascades park (completely closed between gourley and lower cascades) ruins the only low-stress bike route north of town, offers no detour. When a crucial bike connection like this is out of commission, it is essential to offer a usable alternative, or to preserve a route for cyclists. The alternatives (kinser, walnut, dunn) have high speed traffic and no bike or ped facilities whatsoever. I realize it's insane that parks is responsible for transportation infra but that's not my choice and I wish you'd take the responsibility seriously. My kids wound up in a bike trailer on #$@! Kinser today just to access park facilities (griffy lake). When old 37 is open, its actually a great route all the way from my house to griffy. Drivers have a ton of alternatives but cyclists are high and dry. Thanks!

B-line lights 76 and 77 have been out for quite some time. it would be great if a person rode the trail periodically to spot and fix these issues as part of a regular process. Thanks.

What regulations govern the Bloomington Rail Trail? It is classified as "multi-use" and there are to be no motorized vehicles on it. However that's about all we know about the kinds of "use" the trail can accept. Can you point me to the rules governing this portion of the trail? Thank you very much! —Michael Regoli

I’ve reported this before, but there’s a homeless man cutting down trees and trashing the BLINK. He has been hammering things constantly all night. If you’re walking from south walnut towards south Henderson street along the trail, you’ll see his shelter on the right. He has been leaving trash alongside both sides though. Is it okay for him to be cutting down all of the nature that some of us would like to enjoy? I have to avoid walking my dog in the grass in that area due to the trash he has left.
