Please comply with Municipal code Chapter 6.06 - GARBAGE AND WEEDS The Street Department has told me repeatedly that Habitat St extends fully in front of 1417 W Habitat St, and the City of Bloomington will never reliquish right of way. Chance may have told City officials that the property is completely his, but he had converted both the front and back of his lot to his own needs. The Indiana Railroad cleared his stuff off their right-of-way; the story was in the papers. The City did not check about the trash with adjacent property owners at 1407 or 1419 West 8th St. In any case there are uncovered metal trash cans on City property, as well as a used tire. His trash still lines Habitat Street and the back of lot 1419 W 8th St. I have not been able to enjoy my back yard for years, and I anticipate another fine crop of mosquitoes to breed there each year, due to City inaction. Can you fix it? https://bloomington.in.gov/crm/tickets/view?ticket_id=155196 https://bloomington.in.gov/crm/tickets/view?ticket_id=154439
Darwin Schmidt Sat 3/23/2019 3:22 PM do-not-reply@bloomington.in.gov Apparently he didn't get the message. An open trash can is by the middle of his fence. A discarded tire is on City property at the east end of Habitat. An old rug and some plastic bags were tossed into my yard from his side. The loose trash along Habitat is still there. Please try again. There has been a shopping cart on my property for over a week now. I was told by a police officer to put a note on it with my trash and the City would take care of it. I did that on Sunday evening, but the cart is still on the sidewalk.
A rental at the corner of Mitchell and 2nd St has many bags of open garbage that are smelling up the neighborhood. Sanitation probably didn't pick it up because of the amount of garbage. Who is supposed to contact the realtor or renters? The situation is horrible.
A large drainage pit has been dug along the Renwick Trail, and is filling up with construction debris and trash.
This is a lot in GentryCrest covered with abandoned construction material, pallets, cement block etc. This also occurs on the lot opposite this on Hathaway Ct. as well.
1508 W. 11th is going to be sold in a Sheriff Sale on Oct 18th. Contractors for the lawyer/bank who repossessed the property due to the death of the owner have already cleaned out the house and have been keeping the property mowed. However, because the house is vacant, the neighbors to the east (1506), have been stacking/throwing trash, debris, etc. into the house. It is just packed with it. This is absolutely unfair to any potential buyer of 1508 as they will have to pay for the removal of this garbage once they purchase the property. 1506 needs to dispose of their own damn trash.
