Bloomington Sanitation Department, At 3 AM of Wednesday, August 8, 2020 on the morning of trash pickup day at 1412 S. Winfield Rd., 47401, my wife was up watching a recorded news program when a crash was heard from the bottom of our driveway where the cans awaited pickup. The bang was followed by a loud dragging sound. She walked to the bottom of the drive and found the landscaping can in the recycling can were gone. She woke me and we searched for the cans until we found them three doors south on the Boulevard of the Southwest corner of the Moores Pike roundabout. At first I thought at 3 AM, it must've been a drunk. However, the more I thought about it, the more unlikely I thought it would be that a drunk would be able to retain the cans for 50 yards. Retaining the cans brings me to the question which I thought worth sharing with the city. I cannot think of any way to carry the cans that far without damaging one's vehicle other than the way the city does it – hooking a lifter up under the bar built-into the can. If a prankster is trying to develop a "trick-or-treat… Throw your garbage in the streets" system, the potential chaos it could create for the city sanitation system seems to me to be huge and I would recommend that the city proactively try to answer the following questions. 1.) Have any of the lifting mechanisms used by the city trucks ever disappeared? 2.) Since this system is presumably used throughout the country, can such a lifter be bought online? 3.) Are there any YouTube videos about how to make a lifter that someone could have been testing on Winfield Road? 4.) Has the company from which the city purchased the cans and lifters had experience with cans being fiddled with when they are sitting ducks beside the road the night before garbage pickup? If so, what did these other municipalities do about it? I got my cans and my trash back in time to leave it out for pickup, but the next victim might not be so lucky. I reported that our trash was not picked up on Thursday as it should have been. I received a message from Rhea Carter at noon, saying "We picked up today." I just checked my waste cart. The cart has not been moved and the trash bag is still in it.

Our trash can was not emptied today. This issue has happened more than once. Could you please tell me why? We have done everything that we're supposed to do--the trash can is on the subside and more than six feet away from the mailbox. You pick up trash from my neighbors because I can see the other trash cans are sideways or show other signs of being moved. Why leave us out? I am not happy to come home and have to deal with the trash (yet again) that has become very stinky for sitting there under the sun and will become even more so if I wait for another week. I am following the new requirements for recycling. Week after week they go by and won't empty my kart. I've got surveillance video of them not even opening the lid at times. Also I've asked politely for an extra waste kart or a larger one. They never return my calls nor do they even acknowledge my request. I have a family of 6 and we consume a lot of trash. So I sometimes overflow the kart and they will dump in and then charge me 10 dollars per bag and also charge me a fee for items outside the can. They obviously don't like me. I just don't want to have bags outside my cans throughout the week. Ive asked over and over and over and nothing. So im left to this option. Can you please take action and help me. Thank you

collection truck seems to have knocked over my trash bin but not taken away my trash (mostly baby's used diapers!). What do I do?

Trash pickup crews left neighborhood trash on my property. Looks like When the neighbor left their trash out, stacked sky high out of their trash cans, some animals must have gotten into it and spread trash everywhere. Please send someone to clean this up, as it is not my trash, my fault, or my responsibility. Thanks.
