We were left a notice that our garbage wasn’t picked up because it wasn’t bagged. Every single item was in a plastic bag.

On more than one occasion on a Wednesday morning, there has been a COB garbage truck coming through Sherwood Oaks neighborhood at a high rate of speed. I have witnessed this at least twice. The second time was this morning (9/28/22), at approximately 6:45am. The truck was travelling down Bainbridge from Allendale, and turned left onto Elliston Dr. At the 4 way stop at Bainbridge & Elliston, the driver barely slowed down & completely disregarded the stop sign. Then the driver went down Elliston speeding, presumably down to the park to get the trash there. I witnessed the truck coming back up Elliston a few minutes later, still driving too fast, and disregarding the stop sign again. I know it's early, but kids are picked up at the bus stop at that 4 way stop just a few minutes after 7am, and throughout the neighborhood. We also have a lot of people out exercising in the mornings, & there are no sidewalks on Elliston. Please address this with your staff, but feel free to contact me if you have questions or need clarification. We love our neighborhood & want to keep it safe for everyone.

For some reason our recycling is not being picked up. It is not the auto truck given we live in Windermere woods and the truck with staff need to come through the ally. We have had it out 3 weeks (pickup is every week, we thought!) but for whatever reason it is not being emptied. I live at 3500 E Morningside Drive in Bloomington, Indiana. (There are two homes that appear to be at this address. Ours is the light green ranch house with a dark green metal roof.) We have a dark green plastic mailbox by the street. Our mailbox was damaged this morning, 8/9/23, sometime after 6:30am. Our neighbor noticed the damage and notified us this morning at 11:04am. Since today, 8/9/23, is Wednesday, the day that trash and recycling are collected in the Park Ridge neighborhood, we are guessing that the damage was caused accidently by the robotic arm of the sanitation vechicle. We didn't have bins out this morning to empty, but other neighbors did. It was scraped on the top, pushed back and to the side, the plastic on the back was broken, etc. We had a box for the Herald-Times newspaper next to the mailbox which was knocked over during this incident, so my husband removed the post from the ground. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of that. I'm hoping someone would be willing to meet with us to see the damage. If after seeing the damage, they agree this could have been done accidently by the robotic arm of the sanitation vehicle, I'm hoping we could be reimbursed for the damage. Thank you for your time and attention to this concern. Please know that we greatly appreciate the weekly sanitation and recycling services provided by the city staff.
