This trash container, on the west side of S Covey Lane, in Front of the Life Designs duplexes, has been on the side of the road for several weeks. Not sure if the person moved or if they have just stopped bringing it back after pickup.
This is the back of BDLC. Their address is 1807 S Highland Ave but the problem area is in the back on Covey Lane. A television and wood pallets have been sitting next to the dumpster for nearly a year. Recently a plastic slide has been added to the mess. I would appreciate it being removed as it is an eyesore.
I live in a row of townhouses in the Summit Woods neighborhood. We're serviced by two Rays trash dumpsters in the road behind our houses. They have not been picked up in over two weeks and the trash is piling up in a gross and unhealthy way (contractors and college students are also driving in to dump their trash overnight which is making everything worse). I called Rays this morning and they said they can't service these dumpsters because of the snow. I explained that they hadn't been serviced for a week or more before the storm and they disputed this and said there is nothing they can do to help. Is there anything the city can do to help us? There are a lot of families in our neighborhood with small kids and this has become an ongoing health as well as an eyesore issue for us.
I live on West Ezekiel Drive in Bloomington, which is part of the Summit Woods HOA. I've owned my home at this address for over three years, long before the rest of the neighborhood was developed. Since the neighborhood has filled in, the townhouses on my street have not been served by Bloomington city trash or recycling, leaving residents and nearby students in an apartment complex to pile trash in two hastily placed dumpsters in the drive behind our row of homes. As of tonight, the dumpsters are, once again, overflowing with trash, with full trash bags and loose trash blowing around our back yards and flocks of black birds feeding on the scraps. I have three children who often play outside, and several of my neighbors also have young children as well. Not only is this situation an on-going eyesore, but it is also dangerous and a sanitation risk for residents and families in the neighborhood. The city of Bloomington has told us that since this is a private street, there is nothing they can do to help. I’m writing to ask if you will help us address this immediate mess and also help us find a long-term solution to this perpetual problem. All of the homeowners on this street pay thousands of dollars in HOA fees every year only to see our street overrun with trash, which, ultimately, will depress property values and/or resale potentials. This situation is unacceptable and I'm hoping you to help us hold the HOA accountable and also help us find a new, more reliable and sanitary solution for the dumpsters. Every other house in our development has curb-side trash and recycling, including units literally across the street from us. I have reached out to Summit Woods HOA numerous times and they have never returned my calls or emails. Thank you so much for your help. The trash has not been picked up for over two weeks.
Tenant or homeowner has left garbage/refuse by side of the road. Some of the material is bagged, some of it is loose. None of it is in an appropriate receptacle. Some of the debris has spilled over onto the multi-use trail, creating a potential obstacle and/or tripping hazard for pedestrians/cyclists/runners/disabled individuals. Garbage/refuse has been there since at least Saturday morning, 09/17/2022.
Piles of trash are collected on the left side of the residence. If there is anything that can be done to encourage the residence to be cleaned up that would be appreciated by all neighbors
A mattress has been sitting on the street outside 1709 Circle Drive for over a week. If anything can be done to encourage the owner to clean up their front yard, that would also be appreciated by local residents.
The property right next door, 1623 E 1st St, is a rental property that the tenants just moved out of. The trash can is overflowing and blocking the street for over a week. (Mr. Bigelow called the front desk of City Hall and spoke with me - Isabella V)
House at 1615 S. Walnut St. has had trash on the street continuously since last Sunday. Bicycle parts are now being piled in the neighbor's yard interfering with a political yard sign.
