At the intersection of East 10th street and N Smith Rd, N Smith R gets very backed up because traffic does not stop on East 10th. If someone wants to turn left, they have to wait for traffic coming from both ways. There is one lane on N Smith Road so traffic becomes backed up very quickly when someone needs to turn left. This happens especially in the afternoon. Traffic can become so backed up it extends past Meadow Park Apartments, nearing a hill. This can be dangerous when cars cannot see the stopped traffic until after coming over the hill.

Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. But more importantly this is designed to reduce response time and address the backlogs in which we have in some of our districts.'" Four way stop at E. Longview and N. Glenwood West. Issue: vehicles fail to fully stop at stop signs. Hazard and safety concern for pedestrians and park users in this four-way stop location. Request: Mark stripes at each stop sign where vehicles are to fully stop. This to cause some attention to this stop sign issue where folks roll through and sometimes do not stop this causing danger for park users in the "hill area" chasing a ball and small children. Just requesting four bold stripes to delineate the stop sign marking on the street to emphasize the requirement to stop. Please reply so I know that you have received this request. Is there a way to level Allen St from the stop sign back about 50 feet at the Bloomfield Rd intersection? The slope causes accidents and near accidents. We've had 3 cars in our yard since we've been there. We've had to fix up the chain link fence best we could. In 2 situations, our gas meter was hit, which is a serious hazard. Alternatively, could Bloomfield Rd be made inaccessible from Allen St (either a one way or block it off)? Thank you for reading this. Sincerely, Theo

I would like this intersection to be "No Turn On Red" for northbound traffic, and possibly have a few seconds delay for pedestrians/bikes to cross before the light turns green. It's dangerous to have cars hooking around bikers in the bike lane trying to go straight across. Thanks!

paint on the speed bumps has faded along Longview and the speed bumps are difficult to see. It would be great if they could be repainted. Really all of Longview needs repaving, but I know that isn't happening this year and it would be helpful if the painting could happen sooner rather than later to increase the visibility of those bumps.

I wanted to propose the addition of a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of N Fess Ave and E 10th St. I live in Collins, and when walking between Hillcrest and the general courtyard buildings there are no immediate crosswalks in the area. The addition of white lines, particularly on the west end of this intersection (where there is already a metal grate where the sidewalk meets the road) would be very helpful for residents of Collins and would make the area safer for pedestrians trying to cross the street.

There was a collision today between a car and a bus at the intersection of 11th and Diamond Streets. The car was unable to see around the large building at the southwest corner, and pulled out in front of a fast-moving bus. A similar thing happened several years ago between two passenger vehicles which resulted in a collision with the house on the southeast corner (see picture). With the new development at Moravec Way, this intersection is getting much more use over the past few years. I would appreciate if a traffic study could be conducted to determine if some kind of traffic calming, such as a speed hump, would be appropriate to install on the west side of this intersection.

N College Ave crosswalk next to CVS is just a standard crosswalk and I go down this street everyday home from work and it's very dangerous. I usually drive in the left lane because right lane has more potholes. I see pedestrians crossing this street and cars do not stop. I will stop in left lane for pedestrian but right lane does not see person crossing and has to slow down quickly. Would be nice if we can get a crosswalk that alerts drivers like the one on South Walnut Street. My fear is that someone will get struck by a car crossing this street. Today someone crossed I stopped for them and right lane car next to me almost hit them driving fast down this lane. I hope this can be taken into serious consideration.
