1717 Circle Dr, Bloomington, IN. The grasses on the corner of Circle Dve and Ruby Lane make it difficult for a driver/cyclist coming to the intersection able to see oncoming traffic from the east? As a driver/cyclist you have to come out into the intersection to see if you can proceed. Can these be trimmed or the one closest to the corner removed to allow visibility?
Based on my experience over the last three years living near this intersection, I believe we would benefit from a minor change to the traffic pattern at 10th and Range. The left lanes on both sides of the street should be converted to left turn only lanes and the right lane should be converted to through and right turn lanes. Currently, drivers need to use the left lanes to turn left and drivers behind them move to the right lanes to pass them creating unsafe driving conditions. I have seen many near collisions. I think this minor change would make the traffic pattern more safe and efficient with minimal costs to the city. As a concerned citizen, I hope you take this into serious consideration.
There needs to be a pedistrian crossing at the corner of Union and 5th. It is often dangerous to cross there.
I live on W. Ralston Drive, and many people drive through there to avoid the traffic on Tapp/Country Club. The problem is that they drive really fast, way over the speed limit of 30 mph. We don't have sidewalks and I often feel unsafe walking from my car or my house to my mailbox. My yard has a ditch out front so anyone walking in front of my house has to walk in the street, not in the yard. I would love to have speed bumps installed on our street. There are a lot of elderly people and young families. Thank you!
Hello, my child is a student at Ivy Tech Bloomington and has classes in two Ivy Tech locations that are across the street from each other on Liberty Dr. The concern is that she (and many students who don't have cars) must cross Liberty Dr at very busy times during the day to reach her next class, changing buildings. Please ensure there is School signage and a stop sign on Liberty Drive across the 2 Ivy Tech buildings so that the pedestrians/students can safely cross Liberty Dr when attending classes. Please put a light at the intersection of rockport and country club. The amount of east-west traffic on country club is far superior to the north-south traffic on rockport and traffic is backed up 30-50 cars every morning and every evening.
At least half a dozen times since the new bike lanes were created on Third Street near Jordan Avenue, I have been driving westbound on Third Street, stopped at the light at Jordan, in the right lane, with my right turn signal on, only to have someone pass me on the right, driving in the bike lane (and sometimes proceeding to turn right on red at a "No turn on red" sign). I saw two cars in a row do this today. The lane markings seem clear enough to me, but a lot of people are evidently not understanding them. Can anything be done to make it clearer that that is not a drive lane?
Are mopeds and motorcycles allowed to use the 7th street tunnel under the bypass? Today, I saw two (orange scooter and a black-mini-motorcycle thing with a skull and crossbones on front, each coming from different directions) using the tunnel.
Crosswalk needs a vertical sign to caution drivers to slow down and respect crosswalk. This is at Hunter and High St.
A student reported to IU Police Dept. on Friday, 9/25, that the crosswalk on 10th Street in front of Psychology was not very visible. Although it has signs up, they felt the lines on the pavement were not very visible. Thanks Jill (IU Grounds Department).
