I have lived on this street (S Palmer Avenue between Hillside and Grimes) for going on nine years now, and myself and my neighbors are concerned with the speed many non-residential drivers use on this span of Palmer. The majority of drivers maintain a speed far too fast down our street. This is especially troubling because half of our street has not sidewalks and many Bryan Park residents use the street as a walking path. I would like to request either a speed-monitoring study or the installation of traffic-slowing measures on this stretch of Palmer.

I live between Kenwood Dr. and 16th Street where it intersects with Madison Avenue. Kenwood Dr. and 16th street are both very small, and I have a couple of reasons to think that they should be made one ways. I have had multiple times where I have been trying to turn into Kenwood Dr. from Madison, and had a car blocking my way because they were coming out that way. Similarly, I have not been able to get into my parking lot on 16th street because of someone coming from Madison as I was coming in from Woodburn Avenue. It would really help the flow of traffic if there were one way signs, and clearer street signs in this area, and prevent traffic blocks on these small roads. On Kenwood drive, there is an apartment complex with diagonal parking, facing east. I have noticed that the car on the end has a lot of dings, from people turning into their car. I think this is happening because of the fact that when another car is blocking your way, you have to make a wide turn into Kenwood Dr. and then the person's car is in the crossfire. I hope this is clear enough evidence and that it will be taken into consideration.

Hello, I've been talking to several residents of Sunny Slopes who have children who play outside. We have been having many issues with cars speeding down this road, and around the curves. We believe it would be very beneficial to get a few speed bumps through this area, and would be grateful if you'd take this into consideration. Thank you.

There are a lot of kids in the area that are playing in the street, but there are no signs indicating that they are out there. He said that there are many issues with people speeding down the road and his children have had close calls with vehicles. They are asking for kid or speed warning signs to be placed on this street to mitigate the traffic.

N College Ave crosswalk next to CVS is just a standard crosswalk and I go down this street everyday home from work and it's very dangerous. I usually drive in the left lane because right lane has more potholes. I see pedestrians crossing this street and cars do not stop. I will stop in left lane for pedestrian but right lane does not see person crossing and has to slow down quickly. Would be nice if we can get a crosswalk that alerts drivers like the one on South Walnut Street. My fear is that someone will get struck by a car crossing this street. Today someone crossed I stopped for them and right lane car next to me almost hit them driving fast down this lane. I hope this can be taken into serious consideration. I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed changes to the traffic flow on Walnut, College, Atwater and Third Street for the following reasons: Traffic congestion on third street due the numerous busses that stop at each bus stop would make travel east on third street trecherous for drivers and pedestrians. Changing Walnut and College would require changing parking configurations and meters, a cost that is not small. There are many other more pressing needs in Bloomington for individuals with limited incomes, like housing. Also, if in fact there are facts to back the statement about cars going 40 Mph, why is there not a way to change the lights to prevent a person from reaching that speed. If in fact, that has found to be a problem by local law enforcement. Delivery trucks often block one lane of both College and Walnut and with two way traffic there will be traffic interuptions and the possibility for drivers taking dangerous risks to be able to get by the parked trucks. I have not seen evidence that crossing s street with two way traffic is less dangerous than crossing a street with one way traffic. We live in an age where instant gratification is rampid so people will take risks crossing the street, as I have seen. I saw a comment from one business in town, Gratzis, that wants the change. I have not seen that a survey of the other businesses has found. However, I question whether this is a business recommendation based onother cities or what. I can only hope that the outside company that is making these proposals has experience in working with communities with Bloomington’s unique town and gown population.

The intersection of 14th and Indiana is very dangerous. If heading west on 14th street the incline of Indiana in combination with the parked cars along Indiana causes for you to not be able to see if it is safe to cross. I believe that a 4 way stop on the corner of Indiana and 14th is needed. I personally have seen many near accidents as I am a resident of this area and have almost gotten into an accident myself due to not being able to see traffic driving south on Indiana. Feel free to contact me about more information. As a student, I do not want to see other students become injured due to blocked line of view.

Please, reading about Bloomington traffic, we are SO SLOW HERE (though need to obey lights better) so do not slow further. Can absolutely slow neighborhoods but the entire city shouldn't be neighborhood. There is essentially no E/W route. Traffic is worse for a town this size than any I have ever visited (have visited many). Thanks! We need real roads. Can grid some slow places but need more arterials.

Resident requests speedbumps in the area of 12th, 13th and Illinois Streets. Said people fly through that neighborhood and he's worried about kids at the new park.
