The stated goal is to develop the downtown as a walkable shopping destination, and there is significant new building esp. on N walnut and college, but the transportation infrastructure sucks for peds and damages the commercial property values. not a single ped xing on walnut/college between 11th and 17th!!
Pavillion Properties owns the empty parking lot to the north of us. It always collects trash, needles, etc. No one cleans it up and its reflecting on our business (Vanished Aesthetics and Contouring) next door. Is there anything that can be done about this?
Neighbor (pavillion properties) leaves the gravel pit unattended and the trash is overflowing, there is waste and needles all over the lot. There is now a mattress where homeless are sleeping. It is creating risk for clients and staff. He should be penalized for not maintaining the property.
Received an anonymous voice mail in ESD with a phone # 317-468-3545. He is complaining of a potential business going in at this address where there are tents & smokers in the back. This innocent fella was at a local pet store also known as Anthony’s pets.. While I was there I noticed the puppy couldn’t notice any hand gestures and literally barely moved.. Ehen he was awake you could definitely tell by looking in his eyes he was blind.. (I have an Aussie and know my fair share of info on the breed) anyways.. when telling him he argued and told me 1,600 for the puppy.. I a college kid do not have that so I had to leave the puppy.. I believe that knowing this condition and denying it when asking about it is unfair and not right.. In my opinion this place needs shut down because of this and other previous issues within the store.. The dogs are NOT well taken care of and that’s completely visible to anyone that has common sense.
The Mill is a co-working space that I rented from in May and June. They are trying to charge me for July facilities usage even though I had informed them in June that I will not be there. Tehy owe me $90. Please have them refund my money. Thank you. Elliot
Can someone please look into the businesses that are operating out of 629 N. Fairview? Red Tire Taxi received a Rapid Response Fund loan of $12,000 in 2020 for being in the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Zone. I am in my third year of almost daily walking past that building at a wide variety of hours and have only seen a vehicle with a Red Tire Taxi sticker on it once and that was in the summer of 2019. There are two different tow truck company trucks in and out and the majority of the vehicles in their two lots are in some state of serious disrepair. The same vehicles with missing windows are there from when I first moved into this neighborhood in 2019. Is this a junk yard? If it is a junkyard, is there ordinance language around having fences around them? There are vehicles parked on grass in the back as well. If you look up the business registration for that address there is only one business listed and that is called Bloomington Extreme Auto (which is also the business used to perform the safety inspection on Red Tire Taxi's vehicles for the business license), and they were administratively dissolved in 2018. It is an unpleasant area to have a part of daily life, and seems illegitimate in at least one way, if not more. Please look into it. Thank you.
Juanita‘s restaurant has recently installed two of these LED security lights illuminating their parking lots. They produce at least 20,000 lm each. I live a block away, And I can literally read a newspaper from the light that comes through my window. I believe the luminosity of these lights is in violation of city code for lumens per acre.
