The sidewalk and bike lane (especially) are in need of repair. It is difficult and dangerous to bike with so many holes, loose gravel and uneven surfaces on N. Smith Road between Morningside and 10th Streets, Bloomington.

At the following addresses, the clearance space above the sidewalk surface and the bottom of the tree canopy is quite a bit lower than the eight feet stipulated in Section 12.24.040(2) of Bloomington’s Municipal Code. The low bottom of the tree canopy at these addresses blocks the sidewalk and represents a safety hazard for pedestrians and runners. Could you please look into this issue? See closed case #184736: in front of Mother Bear's on E Third Street. The metal drain cover on the sidewalk again has fallen in and is a tripping hazard for pedestrians. Maybe it is time to look for a more permanent solution rather than just putting it back in its place.

The sidewalks on Sare Road between Spicewood (as of the morning of 6/4/24) and the roundabout on Winslow have brush that is overgrown to the point that is narrows the sidewalk down so much that only 1 person can walk through. There are also thorn bushes that will scratch you if you meet someone at the same time either walking, running or biking. The sidewalk is also overgrown from the roundabout at the top of the hill on Winslow down to the roundabout at the Jackson Creek trail and then up High Street. These sidewalks are used a lot but the efficiency is greatly diminished since much of it is interrupted by brush. I'm not sure if this is the city's or the property owner's responsibility but it would be great if this could be addressed. Thank you.
