The storm sewer grate at the end of Olive St where it intersects with Hillside Dr is installed so that the holes are parallel to the direction of travel, and thus bicycle wheels can fall into them. Best practices for safe infrastructure should install them facing the other direction.

There have been many wonderful improvements with the new Hawthorne Greenway, but there's a glaring absence of a decent pedestrian crosswalk from Weatherstone Ave. walking East or West across Woodlawn two new accessible curb cuts were made on the Weatherstone side of that intersection, but then, there's no crossing support for pedestrians to get into the park from there. I think a lot more kids will be taking that path from Weatherstone or from Hawthorne to cut across the park to get into Templeton Elementary School. A painted, raised crosswalk with signage would be ideal. Is that in the plans?

The corner of Moores Pike and Claris currently has flashing Yellow lights to help pedestrians cross Moores Pike.
Drivers view yellow lights as a call to speed up not Stop. I walk there frequently but cars seldom slow or stop
Sometimes the cars speed up, either to beat the light or to run over me.
Perhaps it would help to change the lights to red which means Stop. Or install a regular stop light.
Also, at the Southeast corner of Hillside Dr and College Mall Rd. The crossing light turns on when the vehicles turn right from Sare Rd onto Hillside Dr. This is very dangerous for the pedestrian since the corner is not visible to the cars turning right.
Thank you

Hello-
I was actually hit by a car on washington between 3rd and Smiths St's tonight, 3/7/24 a bit after 6 pm.
A Porsche SUV driven by a college-aged female drove up next to me, then attempted to turn west onto Smith directly in front of me causing me to run into the passenger side door with my elbow and bike.
I had a rear blinking light on, so this person had to have seen me as she approached.
I'm fine; I yelled some very not-nice things and continued on my way.
I know there's nothing to be done here, but in the interest of logging yet another incident in this area, I wanted to report.
thanks again.
Sorry, no picture.

Heading west has one going up a steep hill, so sometimes I'm only going 8-10mph. Routinely do drivers pass me on my bike at dangerously close range. They also have on multiple occasions threatened me, verbally harassed me, and driven recklessly on this stretch. Street space is limited, so I would suggest yellow flex posts in the middle of the street to prevent reckless passing and so bikes can take the lane.

Dangerous biking behaviors on walking/biking trail between Olcott Park and Sherwood Oaks Park. Can signs be placed to instruct cyclists to 1. slow down for pedestrians 2. signal by bell or voice if passing from behind 3. be prepared to stop should it be necessary. A woman and her daughter came down the path at a high speed, did not announce their presence, and almost ran over our 5 year old granddaughter. Education concerning bicycling etiquette might help. Please forward my note to the appropriate department if this is not the correct contact for this type of suggestion/complaint. Thank you.

To Whom It May Concern, this is more of a recommendation than an problem. The pedestrian/bike crossing light on Allen St across Walnut is generally pretty good. Currently, there is a button to activate the lights on the sidewalks and wanted to suggest installing an additional button curbside for bikers. As it's currently constructed the median has two cut-outs so bicyclists can stay in the road (which is where we should be), but activating the light requires we ride up on the sidewalk. Most bikers, myself included, just keep an eye on the road to cross once traffic passes rather than hop the curb to activate the crossing light.
The problem arises when a driver decides to yield; it's a nice gesture, but with two lanes of traffic in both directions it isn't safe to cross unless drivers in both lanes decide to yield and it's difficult to see over the stopped car to make sure the second lane is clear. I tend to wave the driver who has yielded to indicate they should just keep going, Bloomington drivers being Bloomington drivers they defer to being polite.
A button positioned for bicyclists would make it clearer to both drivers and cyclists when it is safe to cross. This crossing point gets a fair amount of pedestrian and cycle traffic, but I don't think it is enough for a button to disrupt car flow on Walnut.

S Landmark Ave is dangerous to cross in the middle of the S curve, where most workers and clients need to cross. The mailboxes for the businesses on the west side of the street are located on the east side of the road. The nearest crosswalks are located at the intersections with Bloomfield and 3rd street, which is not a reasonable distance. Please consider adding a crosswalk, preferably with a button for blinking lights.
Thank you!

Bike lanes on both sides of the road are covered with rocks, sand, debris. I am a full time bike computer and use this to travel from Walnut Street Pike to Rogers on a daily basis.
Both sides of Rhorer and Gordon Pike need swept from Walnut Street Pike down to Rogers Road.

Would it be possible to have a crosswalk painted on South Rogers Street at the entrance to the parking lot of Switchyard Park? Thank you for your consideration.
