Is it possible to have a crosswalk painted on 3rd at Rose? Today I saw a blind person trying to make the crossing. Per the email below, a few years ago, it seemed this was a possibility. Yes. We just received an email at IU saying that we should be using the sidewalk on 10th st from the bypass to range rd in our kubota and other atv's. This seems completely wrong, and at odds with encouraging biking and walking in an already troubled area. Please advise if there is an official policy on this.

A couple weeks ago cbu dug a hole at 11th&college and abandoned a sign in the bike lane on the south side of 11th just west of college. It moved to the sidewalk, and i reported it as blocking the sidewalk on april 5. Now it has disintegrated and moved back to the bike lane. Its black base is almost invisible at night and poses a mortal danger to cyclists. You wont like where i put it if you dont take care of ot within 24 hours.

I had a horrible near-miss this morning as I was biking near the freeway. A grain truck (the kind with three sections) headed East passed me on the left with less than a foot clearance and then cut me off getting into the southbound on-ramp. The two vehicles following did the exact same thing. The other day someone in a car chewed me out for taking the lane and "Didn't I care about all this traffic?!" This intersection is on my way to work and it just needs to be fixed. It is the worst part of my commute and is so dangerous from negligent, unobservant, and angry drivers. The area from Liberty to Wynnedale is awful. There are sections of bike lanes which end abruptly, forcing people on a bike to either take the lane (if they have the confidence to do so) or share the lane with far less than three feet. The wide sidewalks are not good because drivers turning onto the on-ramps aren't looking for pedestrians or bicyclists on the sidewalk and there are lots of driveways to cross. If a bicyclist has the right to be on the street then there needs to be accommodations, signs, or better infrastructure to make it a non-lethal option.

A hole has opened up in the paved sidewalk just east of the Meadowlands apartment complex drive along the north side of rogers road. A metal disc had been covering the hole, but the hole has widened and the cover has fallen in. I live in the Spicewood neighborhood and walk this way frequently--it could be really dangerous for a bike or child walking.
