Hello- Car blocking the bike lane on Washington between 4th and 3rd Sts 12/8/23 6:12pm.
MO plate: BH9 A8U
I'd add in this case: on the right of the picture you can see a car getting ready to pull out of a parking spot. Because I had to go around this vehicle then re-join the bike lane, I was nearly hit by the car pulling out, as they couldn't see me due to this vehicle blocking the bike lane.
This is just one of the reasons I continue to document and send these to you; it's not just annoying, it is also unsafe.
Thanks again

1 set of crosswalk lights are out, and neither crossings of third street are activated by pushing the button.

Not really an issue per say. More a general question. For people walking down third street is there any way for them speed up the light change when there is no cross traffic coming? I normally try to give it two minutes to change? I've noticed it doesn't change automatically unless there is physical cross traffic sitting at the light. Some nights I have enough time to truly wait other nights when running late waiting there is far to much time in my own opinion. If there isn't that's cool.
As I said I'm just curious.
Thank-you for your time :)

I had a horrible near-miss this morning as I was biking near the freeway. A grain truck (the kind with three sections) headed East passed me on the left with less than a foot clearance and then cut me off getting into the southbound on-ramp. The two vehicles following did the exact same thing. The other day someone in a car chewed me out for taking the lane and "Didn't I care about all this traffic?!" This intersection is on my way to work and it just needs to be fixed. It is the worst part of my commute and is so dangerous from negligent, unobservant, and angry drivers. The area from Liberty to Wynnedale is awful. There are sections of bike lanes which end abruptly, forcing people on a bike to either take the lane (if they have the confidence to do so) or share the lane with far less than three feet. The wide sidewalks are not good because drivers turning onto the on-ramps aren't looking for pedestrians or bicyclists on the sidewalk and there are lots of driveways to cross. If a bicyclist has the right to be on the street then there needs to be accommodations, signs, or better infrastructure to make it a non-lethal option.
