The side path along the bypass is blocked by 2 traffic signs that take up the entire path.
Sidewalk across from ABA auto sales on E Wylie Street is blocked with furniture brought over from unhoused persons. Persons there after hours when the Shalom center closes. Should outreach come out as well for services?
There is a growing campsite on the north side of Wylie, not far from the intersection of S. Walnut, that is effectively making it impossible for some individuals with special needs to use the sidewalk there. This is not in a secluded area, but instead directly by a home in a residential area. This is a mixed issue. Not only is this campsite impeding foot travel, it is also against Bloomington policy by being an overnight campsite on public property.
The sidewalk on the north side of Moore's Pike by the AMC Theater is overgrown. Bushes nearly block the sidewalk and the grass is waist-high. I'm guessing that they have ceased caring for the property due to movie theaters being closed.
The connecting footpath between Greenwood Avenue and Southdowns is blocked by honeysuckle. My daughter was knocked off her bike yesterday. I have written to the council about this problem in previous years. Perhaps the honeysuckle could be cut back more significantly, or this could be put on a regular maintenance rotation? This is part of the 'safe routes to school' in the neighborhood, so trimming before the school start would be great. It's a quick job. Thank you!
On the south east corner of the intersection of Henderson St. and Brenda Ln the sidewalks around the bus stop have some very low hanging tree branches that obstruct clear passage along the sidewalk. It would be great to see this get trimmed back.
There is a Veo Ride bike abandoned on the High Street Sidepath at the intersection with Arden.
The new side path along south High Street seems to be open, and all the closed under constructions signs have been removed. So it's a little frustrating to set off with your kids down to Child's only to find multiple vehicles parked on and blocking the path. Being directed to use High Street, with it's fast moving traffic, is not a reasonable detour to be provided with here. Can the city at least coordinate future work here to it happens at a time when all the neighborhood school kids aren't going to or from the local elementary school?
There are several Lime bikes parked in and blocking the multi use pedestrian path on South High street, just north of Childs Elementary.
