A large tree fell during the storm and is on top of one of the city’s fire hydrants. It is also blocking the sidewalk and half of the road.
Lightning struck a tree. Tree has been slowly glowing from fire on the outside for past 2 hours in the rain. It stopped for a little bit but now it is back. Tree is likely slow burning from the inside.
There is an extension cord with lights being run across an alley to provide light to this illegally parked vagrant that is living in this RV. The extension cord is ran across the alley behind 1207 w cottage grove avenue. This is a fire hazard , a trip hazard and unsafe. I’m not sure what this vagrant is doing with his sewer and water. The alley runs west to east between Summit Street and Alexander Street and Cottage Grove and wedt 10th street. Thank you.

On the ridge overlooking the northernmost part of the B-Line - close to where the B-Line intersects with Adams St. there is a growing camp. The picture here was taken on 4/1/2024. There is trash flowing downhill from the camp on the ridge. Some of the trash includes at least 3 propane tanks. The camp is less than 0.25 miles from homes and a park. It is a bit scary to think that the campers might be using the propane inside their tents. What can be done to help these folks stay warm and dry without the risk of blowing up a neighborhood?
There's a trail runs along the back of the fields apartment complex. at the southern end of this trail by a pond there's often a strong smell of gas leak.
Burning smell occurring repeatedly in the evenings near White Oak Cemetery- smells like burning trash. Do not know the source of this but hoping BFD could begin monitoring the situation.
CO run--detected levels of CO in the Kroger store 50--100 ppm. Notified smiths. Turned off large portable heater in new construction area which appeared to be source of CO.
Report of multiple LP gas cylinders inside building--improperrly stored.
