Flashing sign advertising Johnny Angels located in front of 830 W. 17th St. The establishment also allows patrons to smoke inside the building. The complainant also complained about the owner running a small gambling casino out of the rear of the building.
There is a line of sight problem when you are going west on 11th Street and stop at Rogers Street. There is a gunshop sign obstructing the stop sign. Battersby could not see the stop sign due to this other sign and went through the intersection and almost got hit. She would like for someone to call her and let her know what can be done. [Also, the checkered pennants are illegal...-MJR]
Bigfoot Store at the above location, and at 3rd and Walnut, and 10th & Walnut have illegal banners.
Sandwichboard sign in row with balloons.
Illegal pennants around seating area.
Mark had to remove his lunchboard sign along 3rd Street back in June. Why is enforcement at a standstill on Kirkwood and the square? I mentioned that we were meeting w/CBD in Feb. and he wondered why we had to meet with CBD before we enfoced the existing ordinance downtown. He wants to be able to put his sign back out if other area merchants are allowed to maintain similar signs. He wants to be kept up to date on sign enforcement downtown.
PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LETTER.
Ms. Edmonds called in, b/c there is a red reflector sign at the North end of Wilton Drive that was knocked over by a City recycling truck a year ago, and it now leans over with growth completely covering it. Because it's completely obscured, she feels it doesn't work like it's supposed to to keep people from going past that point. She would like to see the sign put back up where it belongs, and the growth cut down and cleared away.
On North Kinser Pike, between 17th Street and the Bypass, there are three (3) large illegal Celebration Fireworks signs.
