This is a follow up on Case #192474 that Tim Street closed last week regarding unhoused individuals using the park shelter at Winslow Woods near the Community Gardens and Community Orchard as a camp. I appreciate that the BPD is aware, but these unhoused individuals continue to live in the shelter. We go to our garden plot at sunrise and they are there, sleeping, so they obviously sleep there overnight. They are there all day, taking over a third of the shelter. They continue to burn smoky, green wood in the grill. There things are spread all over. I’m not aware they harass anyone but it’s uncomfortable. Are you saying it’s okay that they live there? That anyone can basically take over a park building for private use on an ongoing basis? Because that is what they have done. It appears the City has simply ceded the park to these guys. This needs to be addressed in a better way. I feel that others should be free to use the shelter and surrounding area without these men making it feel unsafe.

I have two dead trees, that has not bloomed in Spring or Summer, close proximity to my house- causing potential hazard. Wanted to write this email as an official notification for City to take action, as it is on city property, and if any damage is caused in the next storm with these trees, I have reported this to you on July 27, 2024. 1 - Several tree limbs and foliage are down at the north end of the Overlook Trail, blocking entrance to the trail that is adjacent to the basketball court at the Skate Pk. I dragged some of them over so there is a small opening. 2 - If this is part of the city services, this same area - the north most section of the Overlook trail, entrance near the basketball court of skate park, could use pruning a bit of path clearing.

There are several unhoused men living at the shelter at the Winslow Woods Park between the community gardens and the playground. They have been there for weeks. They left for a day and are back, now with a friend and his dogs. They burn wood in the grill day and night, never leave, and have a car packed with their belongings. They have taken over picnic tables as beds. No one else can use the shelter and it feels unsafe. Running them off for one day is not solving this problem. I do not feel safe going to the community gardens and orchard alone any longer. Why are they allowed to literally camp there? Please make this playground, shelter, and garden area safe again.

This report is for the person that created #192463, in case they are checking on status. What you have reported has been reported before and obviously nothing has been done. The same thing has happened to others and me. I don't know what would constitute negligence on the city's part but... they have dropped the ball on this one. My $.02 is fixing the deep dip and drastically uneven surface at the intersection (that's what took me out) would be the least, installing a reflective post at the corners would be even better, or better yet a railing. Thank you for reporting your friend's experience and I hope they are not gravely injured and are doing okay. With any luck this will be addressed.

Homeless harassing park patrons. They are also stealing power from an outlet on the pole in the north east corner of park. They have piled up trash in that corner of the park as well.

Hi - the entrances to Bryan Park at Woodlawn and Southdowns present a hazard. A friend and I were riding bikes and this culvert is hidden when approaching from Southdowns. They didn’t see it, flipped over, and ended up in the creek drainage area. Please take a look at this area and install visible barriers. Thanks!
