Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

Case Date:
4/8/2015

The sidewalk on 2nd St between Arbutus and Eastside has large sections of hardened paving material that is a tripping hazard and an eyesore. It appears to be from a road repair there (perhaps where the water main broke) and may have been thrown up on the sidewalk with snow removal.

Sidewalk Requests

Case Date:
5/13/2015

On April 6th I reported eight sidewalk problems along the north side of Heather Dr. between Grasstree Ct. and Laurel Ct. I included photos and also mentioned these could be a safety hazard, especially for many of our older residents. The following day I received a call back which was much appreciated. Although some work has been done (see last paragraph), nothing at all was done to the most uneven slab. It is directly across from 700 Heather on the NORTH side of the street near a mailbox cluster. See 701_E_Heather_Dr.jpg. There is a full 2" difference in height. I am reporting this particular one again, because a resident tripped on it April 27th and received bruises and abrasions to her face and hands. Her name is Barbara Wachholz, and she lives at 3708 Grasstree Ct. A neighbor was concerned enough to photograph her face. Fortunately, no bones were broken. I notice some of these raised/uneven slabs were recently beveled or chipped off which could probably help. But I don't believe this was done thoroughly enough to help very much. For example the other end of the slab adjacent to the one I mentioned above wasn't chipped off all the way across. Please advise. Thank you, Marvin Allen, 3907 S. Laurel Ct. Debris Removal (Sand, General Street Debris)

1301-1329 East 3rd Street

Case Date:
5/27/2015

The bike lane between the bus stop and sidewalk (across the street from TIS Bookstore) is filled with sand. I'm guessing the street sweepers can't get into this narrow lane, but this is dangerous for cyclists riding through here and should be cleaned up. Thanks!

Blocked Street

Case Date:

This short connector sidewalk is becoming impassable due to overgrown vegetation. It is a really useful path to avoid biking up the hill on Winslow in traffic.

Street Snow Removal

3404 E Brookstone CT

Case Date:
2/5/2014

The snow in Brookstone Ct. should be plowed to the back of the court between 3400 and 3404 (see attached photo). Otherwise over 2/3 of the court will simply ice over with traffic and sub-freezing temperatures through the weekend. Also, this was previously requested on 1/5. After the request, the driver did a great job throughout January, so thanks to him! I think he drove truck # 4940. Just need to continue plowing to the correct spot.

Traffic Related Complaints

Case Date:

Is there a way that you could lessen the snow mound heights at Bloomington Ferry Road and Lindstrom? It's almost impossible to see around them unless you pull out into the intersection. Someone has already gotten broadsided there--you can see the skid marks and the broken glass. Thank you

Leaf Collection

Case Date:
2/23/2014

Now that the snow is mostly gone, I hope that the leaf collection crews soon will be able to resume the work that was not finished before the winter started. Here are a couple of pictures of piles of leaves that are still out there on Linden Hill, The Stands, Heather, Jamie, Laura, Bainbridge, Allendale, the 800th block of Eastside Drive, High Street, Covenanter and Mitchell off First. Thanks so much.
