Piles of trash in front of 112 E. 12th St (not the address given in the bar above).
This property, at 622 N. Washington St., often has piles of garbage on its porch and in the front lawn.
Hi, There's a fair amount trash at the curb at 128 S. Clark that's been there for weeks. (The front of the house actually faces Fourth St., and that's where the trash is, on Fourth). I don't think any of it has trash stickers, so I can understand why it hasn't been picked up by the city. It's an eyesore, though, so I was wondering if the city can do anything to encourage the owner or renter to deal with it. Not sure if anyone is living in the house; it appeared to be under renovation last fall, and some of the trash looks like stuff left over from the work on the house. Thanks for any help you may be able to give. Regards, Mary
Trash all over yard
This rental property (Orion property) has had multiple bags of trash sitting by the road for two weeks. The grass is overgrown. I asked the property managers (Orion properties) to clean up the garbage and the person showing the house said they think the city will pick it up and he wasn't worried about it. I don't know why the city allows bags of garbage to remain by the road for two weeks, skipped over by garbage collection for two weeks and nothing is done about it.
Couch left in front of 817 N. Washington St., plus piles of garbage already ripped open by raccoons alongside house. These items have been here for a couple of weeks and it appears that the tenants have moved out for the summer. I have photos of both but it appears it will only let me upload one, so I chose garbage. Couch is clearly visible to the street.
As of 5/8/17 one full garbage can remains uncollected from this Orion properties rental. This uncovered can has been on the street for at least 3 weeks and the collection crews continue to pass it by. Last week the garbage bags that were laying by the street were collected, but the full can was left. No action taken by the city for 3+ weeks. From the city website: "Do not place containers out more than 24 hours in advance and remove them from the curb on the same day as pick up. A violation may result in a fine up to $50. Each day a violation continues is a separate violation." This means Orion properties should be fined in excess of $1050.00.
Orion properties has left the garbage can on the curb for another full week. Who should these problems be reported to? This reporting platform is ineffective.
I'm contacting you because this morning at my residence, 213 N Grant St, we received a notice of violation for BMC 6.04.070. Before seeing this notice on our front door, my roommate found that someone had ripped open our trash bags and left that trash all over our yard. This is by far from the first time this has happened. Since August, we have had issues with people ripping open our trash. These people have become comfortable enough to leave their own trash in our yard, even including used needles. This situation has gotten out of hand. On this occasion they ripped open separate bags inside our trash bags that contained trash from our bathroom, leaving used feminine products strewn across our yard. The comment on our notice said to remove all trash from our yard. My roommates and I in between classes today, have been picking up this trash all morning. We will be contacting other departments because this issue of trespassing on our property has gotten out of hand, even after contacting law enforcement. I wanted to bring it to this department's attention that our house is not causing this mess.
