on South Patterson Dr. and 2nd Street Intersection. The LEFT turn signal is way too quick. It doesn't even allow one car to get though the intersection before turning yellow. There must be a timing issue... very popular area for Left Turners onto Second Street. Can you please look into this. Thank you!!

There are multiple street lights out along College Mall Road, roughly a quarter of them which is dangerous with the number of students walking along that corridor.

spray paint on University St. pavement, in front of our house (1217): "punch a nazi"; has been there for over 1 year and does not seem to be fading. Is there any way to remove it? Thanks--Janet

Hello,
There is currently a safety issue at Sherwood Oaks Park. Below the big blue slide on the playground where the mulch is worn away, there is a large chunk of concrete protruding that several children have been getting injured on. They get to the bottom of the slide and instead of landing in mulch, they're getting scraped up on the concrete chunk. There's also an additional large concrete chunk about 10 feet east of the bottom of the blue slide where mulch should be covering it.
An additional note, the swing seats on the swing set there are exceedingly high. High enough that even an adult must jump up to get onto the swing. Children are not able to stop themselves when done swinging because they are set so high. Isn't there an OSHA standard for how what height the swings should be set at?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi! We live on South Banta Avenue, and because the road is on a hill, and also because it provides a shortcut between Tapp Road and Ralston, we routinely see cars charging up and down the hill as fast as they can go. (Today we watched a truck moving uphill actually pull over to one side and make a complete stop to allow a sedan to shoot downhill past it, still accelerating.) This is terrifying, as we have two young children, one of whom is still under two years old. We routinely bike with the kids in tow, and the most frightening part of our entire journey is the short time we have to bike up or down our own street. There have been two accidents at the corner of Tapp and Banta within the past week, and a neighbor's cat was run over recently as well. I'm not sure what a workable solution would be, whether posted speed limit or children at play signs would effectively change motorist behavior. There are numerous families with children in the neighborhood, and since most of Banta Ave has neither sidewalk nor curb, children trying to move from their homes even to the neighborhood park at the Broadview Learning Center are in considerable danger--this is true throughout much of the Broadview neighborhood area. As for South Banta Avenue, I would love to see a few speed bumps put in. I'd even welcome a few giant potholes. Seriously.
I hope that the intersection of Tapp and Rockport is scheduled to become a traffic circle in time, which I hope will alleviate this problem eventually. But in the meantime, I would appreciate any feedback as to what might be possible for our street, and if there is anything that we can do.
Best,
Kate Schramm
