Having the entrance/exit to Steak n Shake be a single lane is bananas. I was pulling in today while another car was pulling out. I was waiting to turn in. As the other car pulled out, the car behind be went around me and almost hit the car pulling out. Employees reported it had been a mess. If there is an accident there, the city will be surely be partially at fault. Plus the damage it's doing to a business.
Crosswalk needs a vertical sign to caution drivers to slow down and respect crosswalk. This is at Hunter and High St.
Three wks ago I reported to HAND trash all around Elkins Apts. Problem still not resolved: blowing party trash, beer cans, etc. in front; blowing trash from trash receptacles in back, around parking lots. A real neighborhood eyesore.
The barricades set up on Rockport Road at the intersection of Roger's Street and Rockport Road are creating a dangerous situation. Specifically, the barricade in the lane for Rockport approaching Rogers requires traffic to drive in to oncoming traffic. This particular barricade doesn't seem to serve any purpose, as it is only visible to traffic traveling on Rockport towards Rogers street, the opposite direction of the Tapp/Rockport intersection.
Hi there, I wasn't sure what section to file this complaint under, since it is related to a loud construction project that has been ongoing on High street for several weeks. There was no major issue up until today, August 6. It is now almost 10:30 PM and the construction has not finished for the night. There is a loud machine (a pump, maybe?) that has continually run since about 8:30 pm and is showing no sign of stopping. We have small kids who are sensitive to noise, and we live right next to the construction. I understand the workers have to complete their task, but to go this late at night seems disruptive to folks in the area. Thanks.
Dear Government, I have been living here for about 13 years, and in this time it has become clear to me that there is a problem at the intersection between Rusgan Drive and Ramble Road West. You see this intersection has been my bus stop for years, and whether it's the dark of morning when I leave or daylight when I get back people speed right by as if there were no speed limit. This is only made worse by the fact that the intersection is half blind because it lies at the bottom of a small hill. So for the well being of myself and the children of the neighborhood I am requesting that this intersection be changed to a three way stop. I believe this would force the people of the neighborhood to drive at a more reasonable speed and therefore make my street much safer. I believe my neighbor across the street, the father of a small child, previously wrote the city requesting the same thing. I myself am just a teenager. So you know that once the problem has reached the point where a teenager takes time where they could have been doing nothing to write the city about traffic regulation, it's probably not just nothing. And considering others have written about this in the past, I frankly find it foolish to wait until someone actually gets hurt to take action. Thank you for your time and consideration, P.S. The sidewalk on the west side of High is completely blocked by overgrown bushes and trees. This is urgent because kids can't use the side path to get to school and this would be the best alternative for all the kids who live north of Childs.
There is no paved sidewalk; it's just a bunch of horribly laid slabs of stone. How was this even allowed, especially in downtown?! This is not wheelchair accessible, and is dangerous to all others. Please put in a paved sidewalk here so wheelchaired people don't have to turn around and cross the street just to get by.
